I do too. It makes me cry and it's so depressing. I hear the song once and I'm sad for the rest of the day.

No one wants to think about their mother dying. I can't stand my mother, but the thought of her dying is even worse than whatever crap she makes me put up with.

And seriously, why shoes? Why does the song dribble all these feelings into a material object? I have no idea, but it's effective. The song tears at your heartstrings.

My thoughts exactly when I read the other responses.  This song makes me tear up too, maybe some people dont get the point of the song....

Oh, I get the point.  And I still think it's a ridiculous song.

    Agreed!

  • Hate that song, but the TV movie was really good!
  • I just think it's too sad.  I'd rather hear happy songs during the holidays.

I can't stand that song, though I have no idea why. My mom cries everytime because it's so beautiful. I cry cuz I want it to end Stick out tongue

My feelings exactly.  On that note, we have a Christmas Treasury book.  In it is the story of the "Little Match Girl".  I cried like a baby after reading it.  I totally avoid that book now.

  • aww i dont know how you could hate that song! granted..holiday songs should be happy...but i cant help but listen to it every time its on! and then i cry like a baby and call my mother! Haha
  • Another vote for hating that song here.

I get the point of it. But I also think it's extremely overplayed and mostly just made to play on your emotions and make you cry.

I change the station every time that song comes on. Ick. Can't stand it.
