Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Problems banning?

So, I get a lot of vendors over on the Honeymoon board, and I *thought* I'd blocked one, but a few posts keep popping up here and there. So, when you hit "block user" that ought to deal with their account, right? And, is this still a 3 day ban?

  • I haven't tried banning anyone yet, but I'm pretty sure Annie or Jen said it's a permanent ban - no more 3 day bans.  Unless they reversed that.

  • There are two block buttons.  One is a "block me from seeing the posts from this user" and the other is "block this person from posting ever again."  The first is what everyone has on any board, the second is a perma-ban that mods can enforce.  "BLOCK" is to just block the posts you can see from that user, and "BLOCK USER" is to actually block the user.  The way to test is to go to a board you aren't the mod of and see what shows up differently between that board and yours.

    I had to ban someone last week, and I *think* it worked - I haven't seen the vendor come back online, so I'm assuming it did. HTH

  • Well, I could definitely see her posts, so I must have hit the right button. Maybe I just missed a few in the deletion process...
