Anyone have a husband who is a hunter? If so, any gift ideas?
I found these two duffels at Cabelas that I think he would like. Which would you get?
Bag 1:

Bag 2:

I'm thinking bag 2, but just because I like how it looks. haha. They're both basically the same material and would be used for the same thing (which is why I'm not going to get him both, although the thought did cross my mind).
Re: Help with Hubby's gift
Does the camouflage pattern matter, do you think?
I'd go with the second one, just because the additional pockets on the outside would be good for extra shells or anything you'd need to grab quickly (rather than dig in the one big pocket on the first bag.) I can ask Greg tonight if that'd help, but I don't know that he'd use either, to be honest (he just wouldn't have a need, I don't think. When he goes hunting, he's within hiking distance of the cabin.)
The idea of both isn't the worst idea, but I get your point - it's like "Here, honey, two bags!!" LOL But maybe they would be used for different purposes - like the big duffel he'd use for clothes and the smaller one with separate compartments/pockets for actual equipment?)
I like bag 2 because of the compartments on the outside, great for keeping small things from getting mixed in.
Derick hunts, but he fishes more. He did ask for some more arrows for his crossbow. I'm getting him some special fishing reels and new rods.
What about some new camoflauge?
Or how about a nice pair of binoculars?
Paula: my intention is less for him to use it when he goes hunting and more for him to put his hunting stuff in one place when he comes home.
haha. He does take a backpack with him hunting and I thought of getting him a camo backpack but I'm not sure if he would want it.
I would buy him new camo but I wouldn't be able to pick it out on my own (and get it right). Plus, his mom bought him a TON of new camo two years ago. Does it wear out that quickly? it still looks good to me.
Graves: i got him a pair of binoculars last year.
That was a very good question. I hadn't paid much attention to the pattern. I'm 90% sure that the second bag actually matches his current camo but I'll have to check. I wonder if he would care or even notice that I made it match? Hmmm...
What about buying him a "hunting cabinet" you could put in the garage or something? I was thinking something like this:
We have bag #2 and it's great!
We also bought one of the compartments for our basement for his hunting stuff and it's been great!
