What are you really good at ??
Let's brag on ourselves.
I'm struggling right now, because for the first time in my life I'm not involved with or doing anything that I think I do really well.
In school I was the smart one and the musical one.
At my old jobs, I was really good at what I did.
At this job, I feel like I'm just... adequate. I get the job done, and done well. But not... really well. Does that make sense?
I'm not the best housekeeper or cook either, LOL. So I can't even rest on my home-making skills.
The group I volunteer with I consistently feel less than average. Of course, part of this is because they don't do a very good job of training new folks (I've asked repeatedly for add'l training), but still. Just not very good at it.
Anyway, all that got me thinking... we all have something, right? Something that we do really well, that we're really good at.
So brag on yourself. What's yours?
Re: What are you really good at ??
I am really good at doing presentations.
I am also very very good at proofreading. So good that I think I am going to start proofreading Masters thesis's and PHD dissertations for $$.
I am also very good at cooking and creating new recipes or improving other people's recipes
But I usually don't tell them I can make their recipe better!
You are funny!
I am good at cooking. Decorating my house. I used to be good at photography, but I don't know what happened there. No time I guess. I can plan really well.
I'm good at staying calm in emergency situations, and keeping other people calm as well.
I'm a good multi-tasker.
And I'm REALLY good at cracking crab legs. My friends/family always ask me to do it for them.
This is a good idea, we all need to remember the positives sometimes!
I wish I had this skill! Instead, I'm really good at getting emotional over minor incidents; this has plagued me all my life, it's really annoying (I can laugh at myself for it, but I can't stop the emotional reaction, it's like my brain's wired wrong somehow)
On the plus side, I'm really good at writing and editing (which is my job, so that's a good thing). I also use my writing skills to help the cat shelter I volunteer with, writing letters from the cats to their sponsors and listing them on Petfinder.com .
The Fluffy Cat says... "Boxes are the best toys ever invented!"
I have to go with lovetara on this one. I am really good at staying calm in stressful situations. My husband is a drama queen... I tell him a lot. I dont know if its my emergency responder training and years of teaching cpr and first aid, but its something I do almost too well. I should have been a paramedic or a nurse. I guess that will be my next career.
I am told I am really good at listening. I overcommit myself to a fault, but if I tell you I will be there I will. Lately I have had no time and I need to slow down, but my friends always have an ear, a dinner buddy, and someone to exercise with.
I've always been really good with animals. Any animal.
I'm good at planning, especially scheduling. Which comes in handy with DH's crazy shifts.
Awesome Idea for a post!!
I am good at creative things and making things. I am becomming a good cake decorator, thanks to my Wilton Classes. I am also really good at event planning and I really love it! I also tend to overbook myself when someone needs help and I often leave myself on the back burner, but I enjoy helping others and doing things for other people.
I have to say I rock as a wife and if DH disagrees he is lying!!
This reminded me of something else. I am good at getting DH to do what I want, but making it seem like it was HIS idea.
I am good at saving money!!! I have found my passion of cooking and baking through couponing and I think I'm good at it.
I'm good at helping others, when they ask for help! I'm good at listening to others and giving advice. I'm NOT good at keeping my mouth shut!
I always wondered if I am a good Mother? How do I know?
I'm good at scrapbooking. I love doing it...I can't draw and always wished I could so scrapbooking is my creative outlet.
I'm a nuturer, so I'm pretty good at that too. And my family swears I'm a comical genius, I guess I'm good at making them laugh which makes me happy!
I have to say that I had to quickly master this art with DH. He's an only child and sometimes I think he doesn't know what sharing and or compromise means so I have perfected this and I love that I have this skill! Sounds mean when you type it out, but it's a necessity!

I'm a beast at the gym- which in turn makes me really good at moving furniture, boxes, getting the lids off jars, etc. Lots of friends seem to be moving, so that comes in handy. Being in the water feels more natural to me than being on land. I could swim for hours.
I'm mechanically inclined. One of my dad's missions was to make me "an independent woman". I always helped him out with his projects. I wasn't even allowed to drive my car until I could change my own oil and tire and name what fluid went in every reservoir and its purpose. In fact, DH says he knew he loved me when I fixed the Sea-Doo he was working on in 5 minutes flat. He had been working for hours. However, I will admit that most times I don't change my oil myself.
I am a natural with children, especially children with special needs and behavioral challenges. I love working with the "hardest cases", but unfortunately the public schools I've been in limit the ability to help them too much.
I am really good at telling people what they need to hear, which is not necessarily what they want to hear, and motivate them to take action if that's what's needed. I am really good at calling people out on their BS without making them hate me for it (most of the time), but I'm also really good at being fine with being disliked for being honest with someone.
I kick butt at picking out just the right gift, when it's a gift I want to give and not one I HAVE to give.
I make a really mean soup - doesn't really matter what kind.
I have an exceptional talent for efficiency. You can hand me just about any project and I will tell you how to get it done, and what portions of it to delegate, to get it done in the most efficient manner possible. Any project. I am usually one step ahead of seeing things within a project that need to be done that just haven't made it into the 'to-do' list.
