Re: Thoughts on this...

  • ugh...im blocked from "entertainment" links.

But yeah....if its not for play, and she is seriously letting her kid wear heels in public, then thats a little to young.

I know I had pink plastic barbie heels when I was little.

  • I think if she likes them fine but i wouldn't let her wear them too often, because of the effects on her feet. But then again I'm not Suri's mom.
  • Hmmm...I'm kind of on the fence about this.  I can see both sides.  I know when I was little I had little jelly heels and maybe another pair of "heels," like Agent said with her Barbie pair.  They weren't my regular pair of shoes that I wore all the time though.  I do agree that letting her wear heels everyday can be damaging to her feet, so if I was the parent that'd be my concern.  I don't see anything wrong with once in awhile though, like a dress-up thing.

  • Eh...I could think of a lot worse things she could be doing to her kid or allowing her kid to do.
  • It ain't hurtin' the kid mentally or endangering her physically, leave her alone I say.  Sure it may hurt her feet, but if the kid wants to wear them, so be it.
  • I wanted to add....and I am sure that this isn't the case but still.....have you ever tried to dress a kid that was damn certain he was goin out of the house in something crazy.  Sometimes you just gotta go with it.....

I used to be a nanny and we would venture out with combat boots, plaid shorts and a towel for a shirt.....but the kid wasnt changin so you know what...we went.

  • Juts from the jist of the thing, sounds like she does it a lot-not just for dress up.  Wow-at 3!

I can understand some things every so often and to fight the battles that are important.  The shoes looked more than the jelly shoes or fun dress up/fancy shoes.  Eh-not stilettos for Suri just yet!

  • eh they are like kitten heels....same day and outfit just a different angle....

I dont think they are that bad...

Its not like she's standin on her feet in them all day lol.

  • This reminds me of M's niece... She INSISTS on wearing her poofy dresses and play heels whenever they go anywhere. I think it's just a dress up thing.

That reminded me of the little boy in Big Daddy (remember that movie?) who always dressed funny no matter where he was going. Kids just have crazy imaginations!

YES! He was very much like that little boy (even looked and talked like him a little).  Andy couldn't pronounce words correctly and called their shitzu Bastowd.  For the longest time I thought the dogs name was Bastard and I thought how awful it was.  I then was informed that the dogs name was Baxter. lol Andy just couldnt say it right.

  • Call me old fashioned, but I think that it's ok to wait for certain things and to set limits on dress up clothes.  That's why they are "dress up".  I have no issues leaving the house in the poofy dress, but heels?  That's just too much IMO.  It's lilke makeup, lots of little girls play with makeup, doesn't mean that I am going to let my seven year old wear it every where we go.
  • I agree they shouldn't be every day shoes but I also think she may be one opinionated little girl! She is ALWAYS in dresses and pretty shoes and I remember reading an interview w/Tom about how she insists on dressing up. They never wear a coat on her either, but I guess if she's not complaining about being cold or getting sick, whatever! My mom let me wear anything and let me tell you, it wasn't pretty! At least she has good taste!

I red that too.  I think in People or something maybe.
