Christmas Brings out the Crazies!! (Long Neighbor Vent)
Or at least the Crazy in EVERYONE.
We live in a duplex - ours and our neighbors garages are in front, side by side, front doors to the left and right (respectively) of the garages back ~10 feet or so.
Two years ago, we talked to our neighbor when we went to decorate and said "Hey do you want to kind of join together (since the garage appears as one 4-car garage from the road) rather than each of us decorate our "half"?" He thought it was great... later we learned just how lazy he can be and realized just why he thought it was so great. LOL
So across the front of the garages, we have the big-bulbed white lights stretched across. (New icicles annoy me or we'd have done those - I hate how they are all crunched up! LOL) Greg hung those and the new snowflake-icicle lights on the front porch/roof above our front door (~10 feet wide to the right of the garage from the street) last weekend. We also bought a "Merry Christmas" light up sign to put on the front of the garage - VERY unhappy with it so it's in the process of already being taken down. (You can't read it from the road and the snowflake looks like a Star of David and that's if you squint; otherwise it's just a mass of lights. LOL)
We get home Sunday night to find two 4 foot tall candy canes hanging from this sign. Our neighbor put up his "decorations" (snowman yard stakes and a spiral lighted tree) and desided we needed some more, so he PLUGGED HIS TWO CANDY CANES INTO OUR SIDE AND STRUNG THEM UP (NOT JUST HUNG THEM OF THE SIGN, BUT ATTACHED STRING TO THE SIGN TO HANG THE CANDY CANES FROM!))
The new snowflake-icicle lights we'd bought - we'd purchased 2 boxes but only needed one. The 2nd box somehow ended up being sold to the duplex neighbor. I come home from work Monday night (4:30-4:45) to find him and his 15-year old son on the roof IN THE DARK putting them up on his front porch/roof to the left of the garages. (Duh?) He saw Greg outside for a few minutes and said "Hey, that looks great doesn't it?" and gestures toward the sign w/donated candy cane additions!!
Greg said "Yeah - and you're getting all 3 back. We hate the sign - you can't read it!" The neighbor said "Oh, well I won't plug it in if you give it to me..." 
Here's the best part: HE HASN'T PLUGGED IN ANY OF HIS LIGHTS. The SOB ran an extension cord UP THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING to plug into those big-bulbed white lights stretched across the front of the garages. He did it last year with just what lights across the front of his roof, but we let it go. This year, he plugged in ALL OF HIS STUFF to ours. Without asking.
