What to get Dexie's Caregivers?

I need help thinking of gifts for my daycare providers. He goes to a school not a private home and has three caregivers. I LOVE these ladies to death. Ideas?

Re: What to get Dexie's Caregivers?

  • As a teacher (albeit of teenagers, not infants) when I do get a small gift, I really appreciate gift cards to Starbucks or something similar. It's nice to be able to treat yourself and think of the kind parent who gave you the gift! A thoughtful card is also very much appreciated. It melts my heart when I get a note from a student (again, teenagers vs. infants) so I know they would appreciate a kind note from you as well!

  • Some questions....

What is the age range of these women?
Do they live on their own?

I really liked the gift Alicia gave to SlayerKate with the sugar cookie mix, spatula, and cookie cutters....that is a possibly idea.

This is a GREAT question Beck and something I shuold have mentioned. I don't want to guess their ages but they all have adult children. Ok, I'll guess... late 40's early 50's maybe?

  • my first thoughts were gift cards...even AMEX cards would be welcome, i'm sure!   or maybe a gift basket from bath and body works, or something like that?

food is always good too, you could make cookies or a pumpkin bread or maybe some duck?!?  LOL

  • I would say a giftcard of some sort. TJ's wrestler's parents will sometimes give the coaches each a giftcard to some place. I love when they do cause even I get to join in the gift. ;-)

  • as a wife of a teacher who sometimes gets gifts.  Anything USEFUL is best, no nick-nacks.  So gift cards are GREAT.

  • Ok so if I went with a gift card... how much is reasonable? I don't want to overdo it and break the bank but I also don't want to look stingy to the people who are helping to raise my baby.
  • Little basket of goodies sounds perfect for these wonderful ladies...filled with wine, cheese, crackers...or fun appetizing snackeroos that you could possibly make for them...sweet treats for sweet ladies. ;-)

THIS also works :)  I know you'd make it classy :)

even a cookie bouquet is pretty awesome!

And for giftcards, I would say just something small like $10 would be appreciated to a place like starbucks, but for places like panera, $15

  • i was thinking more in the range of $25 (starbucks) or maybe a little more if to a restaurant or AMEX?
  • As a teacher, I love gift cards and other useful things. And candy. Haha.

Liam's babysitter celebrates Chanukah, so I have had fun with it-  she will be getting eight small gifts from Liam. I always wanted to celebrate Chanukah myself b/c I love the idea of spreading out the holidays!

  • Have you heard of tyler candles? They make detergent that you just put a capful in your wash with your sheets and it smells so good. You can get that and a candle inthe matching scent. I think they also have dryer sheets and sprays. I would love something like that!
  • I'm a little late, but I would agree with gift  cards...I LOVE LOVE LOVE Starbucks (or something similar) gift cards...if I have to run out the door in the morning, it is nice to  able to drive through and get a hot cup of java somewhere! :)

Another idea..if you go the coffee gift card route...get a travel mug or something similar  to  go with it! :)
