Would you believe this story?

Someone you work with comes into the office with a giant bruise on her face.  You ask her what happened (maybe you're assuming the worst) and she says,

"i was laying in bed looking at a text message from my FIL. It said "your package is here.  I read it aloud to my husband, and raised my eyebrows as if to say my FIL is texting me something suggestive.  my husband playfully smacks my face with a pillow, forgetting that im holding the phone in front of my face, and the phone smacks me in the forehead.  That's why i have this bruise, i swear!"

 Would you believe this story?

Because that's exactly what happened to me this morning.  I always wonder if the crazy things that happen to me and the various injuries i end up with sound plausible to other people.

Re: Would you believe this story?

  • I'd believe it, but I'm also a clutz.

I've also managed to hit myself in the face with a toilet stall door, so...

    Regardless, that's a hilarious story :) haha

I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
  • Haha... That story is a little ridiculous but I have a coworker I could definitely see that happening too so I guess it would depend on who was telling the story whether it was believable or not.
  • Haha I'd believe it!  Only because...one of my senior managers sent me a photo of her with two black eyes.  She told the story of how she got it and it was too clumsy/insane not to believe...

She went to her car (had her sunglasses on) and was in a hurry...looked down, opened the car door and smacked her face with the car door.  Her sunglasses jammed right into her face and gave her two black eyes!

  • Depends on the presentation...if you seem in a good mood, genuinely laughing at yourself, I'd believe it.  I once slipped getting into the tub and hit my shin on the metal bar on top of the tub and had a massive bruise. Not sure everyone believed that story. But I'm such a klutz, most did!
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • that sunglasses story made my eyes hurt!!

I'm the type of person who has tripped so often that it doesn't even phase me, much less embarrass me, anymore.

  • The level of detail is so great that it's believable.

I knocked my head into sooo many random things including a clothing rack at Macy's so many times last week I think I have brain damage.

  • That sounds more realistic than someone falling down and hitting their eye on a door handle.  Ouch!
  • Aww, Dandy! How bad is it?

I've had a few of these myself. One particular one was Mike and I walking from the baseball stadium to hail a cab to where our car was parked. I was pretty inebriated off of 2 ballpark beers and when I went to get in the cab, I smacked my eye on the corner of the door... don't ask me how. It started watering immediately, so I lied and told Mike that I had a bug in my eye because I was too embarrassed to let him know how drunk I was. The next day when I woke up to a black eye, I had to confess.

  • Ha ha! Awesome stories! I believe you D!

I was once lying in bed with my boyfriend at the time and I tickled him and he flinched and elbowed me really hard in the head. I had to go to a meeting right after that so I was icing my head during the meeting while my friends were teasing me.

I am such a clutz that I rarely even notice when I walk into walls and stationary objects and bang my head on the trunk of my car. I only realized how often it happens when I was walking with C and when I was stepping on the curb to the next block, he put his arm out like parents do when they stop at a red light. Embarrassed
