Ladies familiar with Altoona??
DH & I will be going there this weekend because he has a job interview. I'm going so that we can check out the area.
We've never been, so what can you tell me in general? What are "must-see" things. Good areas for housing, etc??

I'm not a ton of help, but I live in State College and often go to Altoona for shopping. There is a nice shopping center with Kohl's, Boscov's, etc and then the mall, which is a good size.
As far as other things I know about Altoona; they have a baseball team (Altoona Curve) and the downtown from my understanding is not the greatest (I've heard it can be a little shady, etc). Sorry I can't be of more help!
