re: yesterday's fail by the Senate

I didn't get a chance to read any of the articles about yesterday's decision, but this was posted on Twitter this morning by Anthony Rapp (the original Mark in Rent if you've seen it).  So terrible.

albinokid Portrait of cowardice in NY: ?Several Republicans wanted to vote for this, but aren?t willing to when the bill has no chance of passage."

Re: re: yesterday's fail by the Senate

  • It's terrible ...time to start thinking about who needs to leave office...

  • Sad thing is...we are so far from this. It will happen but maybe not even in our lifetimes. People need to get realistic about their religion and stop assuming they know what "God's Will" is based on a book written by human beings. They also need to stop picking and choosing what they want to out of their religion. As many GM supporters are saying right now...hasn't the outrageous divorce rate already taken away from their sanctity of marriage theory? You are really going to feel like you are in less of a marriage if ALL people are allowed to marry?

If our first black president doesn't even support gay marriage...we aren't even close. He has chosen his own idea of the term 'equality' along with most other Americans.

    It's sickening.

  • What I cannot understand are those democrats who publically supported the bill, but then voted against it.  Disgraceful.

Not that it will do much good, but I e-mailed my senator, Roy McDonald (43rd Dist - R) this morning expressing my immense disappointment in his vote.

  • This is the first time that I have been really compelled to write to my senator.  Unfortunately, I am also in Roy McDonald's district and I will be sending him an email to express my disappointment shortly.

I don't understand how people can think that allowing everyone equal rights is a bad thing.  Absolutely ridiculous.

  • I'm in Breslin's district, and emailed him to say thank you for his vote.  I'm so sorry it didn't pass, Two.  Disgusted.
