Fondue ideas?

It's been a while since I've made fondue at home, and we're having it tomorrow night, so I'm looking for ideas for things to dip in the cheese & chocolate fondues. We usually do toasted bread, apples, and carrots in the cheese, but are there any other veggies or other things that you like to use? What about dippers for the chocolate? I was thinking strawberries, bananas, maybe pretzel sticks or graham crackers.

I've been craving fondue for a couple weeks, so I'm so excited to make it!

Re: Fondue ideas?

  • Based on my recently wonderful experience at the Melting Pot for chocolate fondue, here's what I can remember they had to dip in the chocolate:
bananas, strawberries, rice krispie treats, poundcake, cheesecake, marshmallows
There's prob. stuff I don't remember but it's listed on their menu on their website.
  • Fold slices of ham around the bread and skewer and dip that in the cheese.

  • broccoli for the cheese could be good!

    marshmellows for the chocolate

    shortbread cookies for chocolate

  • Mmm that sounds so good! What about gingerbread cookies for the chocolate? That sounds yummy and festive! :)
  • I love fondue, especially cheese fondue! Actually, it's a tradition in my family to have cheese fondue for Christmas Eve dinner. Here are some things that we dip:

    broccoli
    cauliflower
    mini hotdogs
    bite size chicken tenders
    mushrooms
    french bread
    apples

    Enjoy!
