I was wondering how hard it is to get into an administrative position with OSU...And do you like your careers there?
Thanks in advance!
Re: Do you work at OSU?
I do work at OSU and have since Dec 2003. Getting in can be really, really tough, but you just have to keep applying for positions that you're qualified for. Just remember that most positions get TONS of applicants, so you need to have good cover letters and things to get considered.
I love working here. The benefits are pretty good--I love the paid time off policies most of everything, I think. I love the fact that we can take classes for next to nothing (have a pay a few fees) and that when DH and I have kids, if we're both still working here, we get a 75% discount on tuition (50% for just one parent working at OSU).
The website is the only way to apply for jobs at Ohio State. Like Allison said, make sure your cover letter and resume are really really good. It can be tough to get in, but once you are in as an employee, it is much easier to move within the university. Internal candidates are always considered before external candidates regardless of the job.
