I feel like I can't get enough oxygen today.
I went to the gym and ran this morning and was fine until I got off the treadmill and then I felt like I just couldn't get enough air. My face was bright red, which is normal when I run like that but it simply didn't go away. I lifted weights and I was still REALLY red. I took a shower at home and when I got out, MH asked if I was ok because I was, again, really red. The redness finally went away, mostly, but I'm still kind of red in my forehead and my cheeks. As the day has gone on I've been kind of dizzy (not horribly dizzy just spells every now and then - like I get when my bloodsugar is off but I checked it and I'm normal right now). And I keep having to take really big breaths of air to feel like I can breathe. I'm not explaining it quite right but it's hard to explain...
Has anyone had this happen (or know someone who has)? Am I dying?
Re: Have you ever had this happen?
I'm not sure if I have ever expeirenced all that you have. However, when it's really cold out, my lungs can't handle it. Like walking outside makes me feel like I'm running out of breath.
Your blood pressure may be off a bit. Not sure if this is TMI, but are you geting your period soon? Sometimes my body acts weird around that time and I get dizzy.
The cold outside/out of breath feeling is exactly what it's like - but I'm inside (and my heat is on 75).
I shouldn't get my period for another week so that's not it. And I have never had this happen near that time anyway. Not to say it couldn't but it never has before.
I have just a few times... usually when I push myself much harder than I normally am comfortable with. (Like if I'm used to running 5 mph and push myself to do 5.5-6.0 mph for a longer period of time, or if I'm running lots of hills that I'm not used to, or pushed myself to run LONGER in length than I'm used to.) It's been a while - I want to say the first time I ran the C25K 20 minute workout I felt like that because I struggled to get enough air while running and my lungs just felt good to finally get some air!
That's kind of scary though that people are asking if you're ok.
Was it cooler than normal in the gym when you ran? I guess it wouldn't hurt to call your Dr or the nurse there and ask, but they might freak out if you say "I'm not able to get enough air."
Maybe that's why? Temperature fluctuations can mess with your body and how it functions under stress.
