Reading GTG/Ornament Exchange

Sorry I let this drop last week. I haven't been around too much the past few days.  Anyway, I guess we blew our chance for a GTG last weekend.  I'm pretty busy this weekend, but I'm free next Sunday and I think I'm free all the rest of the weekends this month (for now anyway).  Monday-Wednesday are not great for me for these next two weeks, but any other weeknight would be fine.  Anyone have any dates they want to throw out there that would be good for them?

As for the ornament exchange, if anyone wants to do it, I was thinking we could just use Elfster.  I think most of us have accounts from last year anyway (not that I remember my login!).  For anyone who wasn't around last year who might want to play, we just need to decide on a spending limit, a sign up deadline, and an exchange date.  I'll organize an exchange on Elfster. I'd let everyone know when it's ready and you just create an account (http://www.elfster.com/) or log in to yours if you already have one. You sign up for the exchange and I think you put in some preferences for what you like in an ornament (colors you like, favorite Christmas symbols, general decorating style, etc.). After the signup deadline, everyone gets an email with the person's info that they are getting the ornament for.  We could either bring them to the GTG or do the exchange by mail.

If you want to play, cast your vote for preferred spending limit and if you want to do it at the GTG or by mail. I vote $10 cause that's what we did the past couple years and I like the familiar :)   It would be most convenient (and fun!) to do the exchange at the GTG, so if we can get one organized, that would be awesome.

Re: Reading GTG/Ornament Exchange

  • Weeknights or a Sunday would be good for our early Dec. restaurant GTG.  I think $10 is a good limit and doing it at the GTG would be perfect.

The four or five of us can set a date for the GTG at my home.  Maybe you girls could text me good dates for that.

  • agreed on all counts! $10 is good, and here are the dates I'm free:

Mon/Wed/Thurs nights, Sat/Sun the 19th and 20th. Don't know what I'm doing the 11th/12th but again, you girls pick a date and I'll chime in.

  • How about Thursday the 17th or Sunday the 20th?  Either would be good for me and it should give us all a decent amount of time to do some ornament shopping.  Later on tonight I'll set up the Elfster list and I'll give until Monday or so to sign up so that Tuesday we can get the emails with our person.  Does that sound good to everyone?

The 17th or after 4 pm on the 20th would be good for me, just let me know.
