Thanks for all the well wishes. I am home and recovering by the Christmas tree watching shows I taped. My throat hurts from the breathing tube and my stomach is huge! They made three incisions, not four so I lucked out there.
Comes to be that I am not crazy and they found endometriosis. I will learn more in two weeks at my appointment but it would seem that my doctor thinks it's the best idea to give me menopause for 6 months so any endo they could not find will disappear and then I'll have a good window for baby making. DH and I will be going to the future appointments together so we can make our future plans as endo will continue to be a problem.
I love my new doctor. He is super nice and if he deliveries my future baby...i will be a happy lady.
Re: Home + Recovering
Thanks for the update and I'm glad you got the validation you needed from the doctor.
Keep resting and I hope you feel better soon- let me know if you need anything...
Glad to know that they finally found the cause of the issues! Do they have you on meds to keep you menopausal for the few months? I had to get shot of something to do that to me once and those damn hot flashes would come around at really bad times....
so be prepared.
Get some rest! It is another decent day out, so open your windows and enjoy it or bring a blanket out to your deck and rest out in the sun.
Glad to hear that you have an answer and that everything went well with the surgery. Enjoy your recovery under the lights of the tree and dream that Santa will bring you a fabulous gift.
Yes the doctor said it would be a monthly shot and I would get hot flashes. But we will talk all about it and our options at my post-op in two weeks. At least there are few of us out there that will know what menopause feels like before we get it for real!

Hot flashes - NOT FUN!! By the way, take this as a warning because I was never told this. Before my ovaries shrank and I went into that menopausal state I got the heaviest period of my life. I was scared to death because here I thought I wasn't supposed to get my period and here I was bleeding uncontrollably. I actually called the emergency doctor on call because I was so scared. Hopefully your doctor tells you that this can happen so that you are prepared, but if not, I've given you the scoop.
Oh wow. It makes sense that you would have a huge period before they shrink. But thanks for the forewarning. I will have lots of questions for them. It will be a trip. I'm nervous about the other side effects, if I will lose my sex drive, gain weight etc. In that six months I would really like to get in shape and stay in shape and also hopefully with out having endo....get my sex life back without pain.
I don't remember losing my drive, but like I said, those flashes liked to come at really inappropriate times.... I also only had the one shot - they used it to shrink a large cyst, so I can't say how it will be to be on it for a stretch of time.
hahaha for a long time I will be an old lady. hahahaha
We'll all chip in and buy you some nice embroidered hankerchiefs so you'll look pretty wiping off your sweaty brow!
LOL - love it!
Are they giving you Lupron? Although, now that I think about it, maybe not since you said it's only 1 month. But that's what they give us lovely IVF'ers to put us in menopause before starting cycling.
I am so glad they confirmed your thinking and agree with us lovely internet doctors! lol Feel better and let me know if you need anything at all!
