I am in my gf's wedding on NYE...YAY!
I lost my spanx from my wedding and need new ones but woudl be willing to try a less expensive brand....anyone use them and have recommendations?
Our dresses for the wedding are short and we are not wearing hose....I have the pastiest legs ever so I was thinking of a spray tan....advice?
Thanks girls!
Re: Questions...
Haha...oops, I'll delete those when I can...
Anyway...I've never had a spray tan, but bare legs on NYE sounds cold!! : )
I've purchased Spanx wanabes from JC Penny before...not 100% sure on the brand but they were at least half the amount. Worked the same for me so I liked them and the cheaper price.
I have used the Hanes wannabe Spanx and they have worked, but I've also read of ladies having really good luck with the Target brand ones.
I know people who have had great spray tans and some that were disastrous. I would see if you know of anyone who has used your local ones. Now, Jergens makes a lotion that has a little self tanner in it and it is great. I've used it several times and it takes the pastiness away without making you look like you used self tanner. I would highly recommend it especially since it is a winter wedding and you don't necessarily want to look like you tanned only for the wedding.
I probably should have added that all wedding festivities are in one place indoors so thats why we all chose bare legs....we wont be outside at all!
If you decide to do a spray tan, go about 2 weeks before to be sure you like it, and then go 2 days before the wedding.
But like a pp said, I would do a self tanning lotion... it's more subtle and since it's January you really don't want to look tan. Just be sure to use it sparingly on your knees and ankles, and blend it in well. I always put a little regular lotion on my knees first so they aren't so dry.
I bought the Assets (Target brand) before and thought they were cheap crap compared to the Spanx. Nothing like Spanx and no better than the truly cheap stuff from either Target or Walmart.
I tried the Target brand and it worked "ok".
I then tried the Spanx and wow- what a difference- both in the way it made me look, but mainly how comfortable they were. Definitely worth the $ if you can swing it.
I totally agree. If you want Spanx just to cover up a panty line and smooth you out, then maybe go with the Target kind. But really, if you need them to do some "work" for you, go with the real deal for sure.
I also use the Jergens lotion and really like it. It makes you darker but not "whoa" orange or anything. I am really really pale (all year) and that one looks natural on me.
I tried the Target kind and don't like them nearly as much as Spanx. I don't feel like they held me in a well.
As far as tanned legs I would try some of the lotion with tint in it vs tanning or spray tanning. You can put some on and in two weeks have some nice color.
Also...just because the other girls aren't wearing pantyhose...does that mean you can't?
