So every year we cut down our tree, and this year was the first year that we did NOT have our pick up truck. H has been going on and on about how he is fine with not having his truck but really it is soooo not true. He misses it. Anyways we pick out the tree and H ties it on top. Then I hear him grumbling and SWEARING (he never ever ever swears or gets mad) and starts taking the tree off the top of the SUV. I was asking him what was wrong, and he said he tied it on backwards. After I looked I was like yeah I guess you are right. So he tied it on again the right way but I could tell he was soooo aggravated. Then we start driving home and we get onto 110 and the whole tree slides frontwards like hanging over the windshield. He was so mad! I was trying to make jokes but he was so upset about having to tie it on again and then it was slipping and sliding. I kept making jokes and he finally says so serious and mad all at the same time "WE NEED A TRUCK." Ehhh....it put a damper on my Christmasing but he got over it as soon as we got home.
Re: Christmas Tree Incident
Oh my gosh!!! I would have freaked when it slid over the windshield hahaha.
I bet he'll be able to laugh at the story soon enough
My H would have acted the same way yours did! I can see it now- I'm cringing and laughing at the same time.
One year my mom & I went to get the tree together with her truck. She just plopped it in and we drove off. All the sudden, we hear a bang, look out the rear view, and the tree is rolling down the road. Mom slams the brakes, jumps out, and starts chasing the run away tree. She was pissed, but I was rolling with laughter!
