We were going to start TTCing this year but
I have to either get a new job (ideal) or at least new insurance. Our deductible jumped from $6K-9K (for both Jay and I-I could drop him and only pay $3K). Prenatal is free and 100% covered but delivery and all follow up care is not. I would have to pay up to the $9K plus 30% coinsurance up to $18K after that. Stupid. My premium went down like a whole $5.00 a month. How ridiculous is that?
Re: We were going to start TTCing this year but
Oh man. Health insurance issues really suck. I hope you can figure it out.
That's pretty ridiculous Kate...I can feel your pain here, too.
I'm scared about our changes for health insurance for next year, too. It's supposed to be "beneficial" to us....but I'll believe it when I see it on paper! Our insurance is going to pre-paid and we are billed after visits - so we are to "predict" costs for the year for medication, visits and stuff...and anything that falls under or over - might carry over for the following year or we pay it once we reach our max. We can make changes it once a year, it's like predicting how many times will I get sick, and make drastic changes to make sure we're covered...it's a sorta win-win situation...but still confusing.
How much is the average bill to have a baby? Doctors visits? What can we expect for that? That's the scary question...
I hear Canada is nice this time of year
Does the H have any (better) insurance options?
