I hate floaters in eyes. They bother/freak the crap out of me. I feel like I'm noticing them more them ever lately... I have an appointment to see a specialist on Monday. I just hope I don't go blind before then.
Anyone else have this problem?

I haven't had this happen, but your title reminded me of Family Guy, when Stewie thinks he's dying and writes an ode to the "squiggly line in my eye fluid, I see you there, lurking on the periphery of my vision..."
Yes? No?
Yes. That's exactly where I got it from. It makes me laugh and feel better about my own squiggly lines!
Actually they have surgery for excessive floaters now. I know because my mom just had that surgery on her right eye and is scheduled to have the procedure on her left eye after the first of the year.
They basically remove the vitreous fluid, repair any thin spots or detachments of your retina, and replace the fluid with saline (which is eventually replaced by your body with more vitreous fluid).
My mom has worn glasses/contacts for forever, and her vision drastically improved after the procedure, which is why she's pushing to have the other eye done ASAP.
I would recommend going to a retinal specialist if they are severely affecting you.
hmm... I've read online about the surgery but I was under the impression that doctors don't usually like to perform it because it's extremely risky but unless your mom has had a newer or different surgery then the one I was reading about- I would definitely look into it with my retinal specialist. I'm getting a full retinal exam on Monday just to make sure it's nothing serious.... **** fingers crossed it's nothing serious! ****
