The Prez...
So, I posted a few pics on FB, but...didn't get to actually SEE him. Saw the vehicle we think he was in...
Early, early, early on... we (a coworker & self) went out to watch the Secret Service guys 'work'. Saw the bomb sniffing dog go around and there was a tent out back behind the restaurant. I guess the workers had to be drilled, etc, cause then they came out. We saw the people that were allowed to be 'diners' come around and enter the diner. The people around were on phones saying-ok, he's here... now he's en route to xyz!
We finally got too cold and went inside. Then, we heard his college speech was done and THEN en route to the diner. Helicopter-only 1-flew over and we saw SS men on the restaurant roof and all side doors. Lots o signs about. One odd one said -Abortion kills future American Workers Ok, WTF, people?!? (no, I didn't vote for O, but really?! I was just excited to possibly see him)
DH told me to go join the protesters... The bosses' mom said to go hand out business cards (ok, really?! again?) Then, the motorcade shows-of course, is my camera ready?! nope. Got some of it, though... and the snipers!
He goes in the OTHER door. I miss him entirely. We see the press go in for 5 min and come out. Then, I run into an old friend and my customer arrives... drat! No Obama sighting for moi! eh, i have 3-ish years to see him, I guess...
Fun times, anyway! I'd do it again, but would wear pants and flat shoes-vs. skirt and boots! And LOTS o COFFEE!! It started at 9-ish and he didn't arrive til after 1! Brrr!
