Friday fitness check-in

Happy Friday!  How was your week?

My goals for the week were:

Did you meet your goals?

What kept you motivated?

Are you feeling results?

Re: Friday fitness check-in

  • My goals for the week were: Run on treadmill for 30+ minutes at least 3 times before Friday.  No snacks after 10pm.

Did you meet your goals? I met my no snacks after 10pm goal.  It was tough one night but I just drank my water and got over it.  I didn't run on the treadmill 3 times this week.  Monday I did weights at home, Tuesday I worked on the elliptical for 30 minutes since the treadmills were all full, and Wednesday I finally got my run in on the treadmill so I pushed it.  Yesterday I didn't end up getting home til 8pm so I skipped working out.

What kept you motivated? Looking at the scale and my stomach.  Neither are where I want them to be, and I know it will be tough with all of the holiday parties in the next month and the cold weather limiting my exercise.

Are you feeling results? I felt sore on Tuesday after my weights.  Wednesday night I was able to keep up a high speed on the treadmill.  Usually I start slow and build up but I wanted to test myself and was proud of how well I did.

Confession: I remembered to post this only because I was contemplating going out to get a cookie for a snack.  I have an apple for the afternoon but I don't think it will be enough.  I'm going to a party tonight though and there will be delicious desserts so I am trying to save myself for those.  I hope I can hold out!

  • I was a big fat fail this week.  I didn't set any goals so I suppose that means I didn't miss any, but that's not a good answer Stick out tongue.  I haven't even gotten onto the new elliptical yet that DH finished putting together a couple of nights ago.

I only played volleyball once this week, but they were good matches so at least I have that to show for the week.  This coming week I think I'll resolve to get up earlier and hit the elliptical--let's say at least twice this coming week to set realistic goals :)  I know it's not Monday, but I better set goals now while I'm thinking of it!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • My goals for the week were: to work out!

Did you meet your goals? I did! I worked out more than I have in months (2 days! woohoo) and I'm going tomorrow morning

What kept you motivated? I actually set goals and joined a new gym (other one was scary & crappy)

Are you feeling results? Yes, I'm relatively sore!

  • My goals for the week were: Do my exercises and stair workout for a 1/2 hour each night during the week.

Did you meet your goals? Pretty much. Some nights were more like 25 minutes by the time I got underway. Of course, tonight hasn't happened yet and I need to go to the grocery store, so we'll see.

What kept you motivated? Some nights I really didn't want to but I just forced myself. I know when I stop doing this during the week (I take the weekends off) that I most likely won't start again.

Are you feeling results? I feel it when I'm actually doing the workout (especially the stairs, my legs will be burning!) and sometimes I feel pretty tired afterwards, but I don't feel it the next day.

  • My goals for the week were: treadmill 30+ minutes three times.  arms three times and abs two times

Did you meet your goals? half of them...... I hit the treadmill Monday for about an hour and Tuesday for about 50 minutes and I'll go today after work and Saturday and Sunday I'll take the dogs for runs depending on the weather, but I didn't do any arms or abs at all.

What kept you motivated?  needed the stress relief.  I feel so much better after a good sweaty workout

Are you feeling results?  I don't feel like I lost any lbs. but I do feel like my endurance is getting back up there.  I took a break from working out for awhile so I'm slowing getting my endurance back up.

  • I was just awful this week.  I only worked out once--today.  I am going to go tomorrow to the gym, but I am hoping next week will be better.
  • F/U: I did my half hour today. Smile
