Wii Questions
I decided to splurge and get DH a Wii for Xmas. He's been talking about one forever...and we talked about getting one with our tax returns next year (since we mostly use the money for responsible things, but buy something fun for ourselves too) As an added bonus - I'm getting the Wii fit too so maybe he can drop a few lbs and stop snoring (see post below - haha!!)
Anyway....anyone have one? Do you need to buy a lot of extras? What games to you have that you love? Any that you hate or consider a waste of money?

We have one. DH got it about two years ago. I never had video games growing up and I suck at them, so I like the games meant for 12 year olds, since I'm fairly decent at them, LOL. I love any of the Lego games (Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, etc). We also have MarioKart which is fun, and DH has some other games too. We have the Wii Fit, and I like it, but haven't used it in awhile. It's definitely not a full workout, but it's fun. I've heard the EA exercising game is more like a full workout, but we don't have that one.
In terms of extras, it only comes with one controller, so you'll need at least one more, and then you also have to buy the nunchuck attachments for each of them. DH loves Mario galaxy, and there is a new Mario game out that we want, but are hoping someone gets it for us for Christmas. Oh, we also have a wireless sensor bar, and that is a nice extra. DH also says don't set it up with a window behind it, since the window reflection messes with the infrared sensor.

My Food Blog
We have the Wii and Wii Fit and love it. A lot of the games we have are one player, so that kinda stinks, but we love how interactive it is. Like the pp said, you have to buy a second controller, but otherwise I don't think a lot of the other extras are necessities. We have the steering wheels for Mario Kart, but you can play with out it. And my sister has bought some of the guns and stuff for DH for some of his games, but again, you can play without them.
Some of my favorite games are Marioparty 8 and Wii Play. I also rec. getting some money on the Wii Ware and getting some "old school" games. Dr. Mario is a favorite of mine!
We have the wii. Our favorite games are the mario kart games (the wii version and Double Dash - the game cube version), mario galaxy and the new mario bros wii. Rayman is also fun.
Guitar hero is kinda fun, but we found it to be short-lived (only played it for a couple weeks) and not worth it bc of the expense & extra equipment you have to buy and store. Some people really love it though.
DH liked NHL 10 and Madden 07, but I suck at sports games and would never play them with him bc i was pathetically bad.
I have the EA Active fitness "game" and it IS a full workout. It doesn't require the Wii fit board, and comes with it's own gear if you buy the game. Kicked my butt the first few days for sure. A second edition just came out.
Although, I am interested in the Wii Yoga coming soon.
