Stuck working on a Saturday....anyone out there??
Uhhhhhh...I hate working on the weekend! I work at a college and we have Saturday registration today so I have to be here "Justin Case" a student has a personal issue and needs some help. Talk about dead silence...thank god I can listen to the radio online! I still need to do my christmas shopping (ya I'm broke til the 15th) and really need a new pair of gray boots and black flats. I ordered my thank you cards from vista last week and was hoping they would come in by today....but they haven't. So I can't knock those out quite yet.... I'M BORED!

i feel ur pain, i used to be a student ambassador for UCF last yr and I had to help register students. I also had to just walk around as they were registering and try to spark conversation and make them like me. It was a lil weird.
I am bored...just listenin to beethoven's moonlight sonata...i had to put it on because it calms my dogs down and makes them fall asleep in like 2 minutes. They r bouncin off the walls this morning. I am going to go buy a PS3 for dh for christmas today. I am putting it on my credit card cause i dont have a job. He has an xbox 360 I dont understand why he wants this. He says its because it has a blue ray disc player in it. He doesnt even play his xbox that much. Oh well... he just likes to have toys.
I am supposed to be starting a job at an elementary school this coming Thursday though and I am SOOOO happy. I swear I am so bored during the day it kills me.

It sucks because all of the students are down the hall registering or figuring out their Financial Aid....unless one of them has a panic attack or has an "issue" I just sit and wait....
My best friend graduated from UCF and my cousin currently goes there now. I drove around with my friend on that campus about 8 years ago??? Wow that was forever ago....it's a nice school. I have family in Orlando/Cocoa Beach area. i used to live in Panama City Beach after college, but I moved out of that crap hole. That's cool you are starting a new job. What will you be doing?
thats so cool!!! yeah i lived in Orlando for a year with my ex, it was the worst yr of my life only cause I lived with him lol note to self: never move in with an EX! bad choice! The campus is very nice there. Then, I transferred to the Daytona campus and moved back home. I liked that campus better because I got to know everyone and it was much smaller, and felt like we were a big family! The UCF Orlando campus was nice though because it had a Barnes and Noble and all kinds of food places at school. I def. don't miss living in Orlando though, even though I paid to live in a gated apt. in the good side of town, so many scary things happened to me. It's pretty bad as far as crime goes!
My new job will be working as a reading tutor. The school rcv'd money from the govt. because they are considered an "A" school, so they were able to hire 3 tutors to help out from now until March. 4 days a week from 8-2 I go to each grade level and pull out a group of students for 30 minutes at a time and I work with them in certain areas they are having trouble with. It's neat because I get familiar with all grades and all teachers. Hopefully, they will like me enough to hire me when the new year comes as a full-time teacher.

Oh yes Orlando has a ton of crime. I live in St. Louis, which also has a lot of crime but I just feel comfortable here. The last time I was in Orlando were driving down Iternational Drive trying to find a place to eat, then the car in front of us starting swerving all over and this girl in the back seat was punching the girl in the front seat! And the guy driving was trying to break them up but was going all over the road. Then he pulled over and the 2 girls got out and beat the crap out of each other. Then one girl ran off and the other jumped back in the car and they drove off. My DH and I just sat there like WTF just happened?!?!?!?! Random.... My cousin lives in a "gated" apartment complex near International Drive and I am so afraid she is going to meet the wrong guy/person. I just remember all the stupid crap I did in college.....
You new job sounds cool. Usually when you get in the school district you can just work your way up pretty quickly. Getting to know the teachers is a great way to find out who is retiring/having babies so you can plan ahead for their position.
A reading tutor sounds cool because you get to work one on one with them and they are getting something out of it that is actually helpful. Make sure to bring lots of stickers! 
wow thats crazy!! I-Drive is insane, I've been there once and vow to never go again lol When I was at my apt. complex my ex made me go next door to the convenient store to get something. I kept arguing telling him he should go since its getting dark and he kept saying no. (ugh..ex's!!) so I went and as soon as I got out of the gate to my apt. this dude jumps out from behind a dumpster and comes walkin towards me and he had his hoodie all down over his face. I FREAKED OUT but luckily he just walk right up next to me and bumped shoulders with me and walked behind me but like turned around and watched me as I walked. When I got back to the apt I let my ex have it. I never left and went by myself to the store again!!! Who knows what coulda happened...I dunno what the guy was doing and why he was acting that way to me. Maybe he was gonna try something but realized I woulda kicked his bootay. lol
