A repost: need jeweler recommendation
I am still in need of getting my rings inspected, cleaned, and dipped. I went to one place and they quoted me an insane price for the pair. In Manhattan or Queens. Preferably with late or weekend hours. I also wouldn't mind if it had other sparkly things for me to peruse.
Edit: This is a repost, not a report. Duh.
Re: A repost: need jeweler recommendation
Hmm, okay. Even though that's in Brooklyn, it's not too far from where I work. Do you remember how much it was for cleaning?
i would recommend little king on 9th street. my rings are curved and they sized them down, cleaned, and dipped them. i forget what it cost but it wasn't much more than $30, possibly less. they also put small balls on the inside of my grandmother's wedding ring for free (which i wear on my right hand sometimes) because it has been in her family since the late 1800s and they didn't want to tamper with it. i believe they are open all weekend and closed monday & tuesday.

and they do have lovely, sparkly things to buy
Thanks, Joanna. I have been by that place a million times and wondered what it was like. Maybe I'll pop in next time. That price seems more reasonable. I was quoted $75 per ring at the place I checked into. Seriously. I nearly laughed at the guy.
good luck amy! if you buy anything sparkly while they are dipping, i wanna see! if i'd bought my e-ring here, i'd have wanted to have gone there.
and $75/ring? wtf?
sorry - I didn't see the part about Manhattan or queens. my brain only functions at half speed these days. I can't remember the price though.
