Photography / Wall art

So I'm looking for some art that I would want to hang up on our walls of our new home.  I like b&w photography, but most of the ones I saw at art.com I didn't like.

I do like the b&w and the color photography here:

but the prices are a little expensive!  At least $100 for the smallest size pic.

I was wondering if anyone (like Nicole) - and I think I remember others here are photography buffs - takes pictures of landscapes or still-life type pictures.  One that I really liked, as an example, was this one:

(dang, I don't know how to PIP anymore, the old way I used to do it doesn't work)

Would anyone be willing to show me some of their pics, and possibly sell one to me?  I think the image would have to be taken from a camera with 10 or 12 megapixels at least so I can enlarge it.

Or does anyone know any good sites for cheaper art or photography?

On a sidenote, Amy Butler has some amazing wall art that she sells at that site!  So pretty!

Re: Photography / Wall art

  • MH is a great photographer.....let me talk to him and see if he has anything.  I know he takes lots of photos of flowers, wildlife (mostly birds like herons, and some landscapes.  We have them enlarged all over our house.  I'll see what he says.....

  • Not sure if this would work for you, but here is what we did. I took pics that our photographer from our wedding took with some scenery. I then cropped them really close....like some lanterns with palm trees, or closeup of a starfish (but cropped, so it looks a little abstract). I then converted them to black and white through photoshop, and then had them printed at 12" x 12" at Costco. Framed them in big black square frames with a large white matte. Cheap art that is also personal, but doesn't scream wedding pictures!
