Where to buy birthday cards/wrapping paper?
I know this sounds like a silly question, but I've got 6 birthday cards to purchase within Dec and January, and then have to buy wrapping paper for all 6 gifts.
I feel like birthday/greeting cards are anywhere b/w $4-$5 each, and then wrapping paper gets $$ too. I normally shop for these items at Walmart or Target- but are there other places I can go to where it's still nice quality but not as $$? Or am I just being too cheap?
Re: Where to buy birthday cards/wrapping paper?
First- I just read your blog for the first time and I LOVE it. I will be visiting more!!!
Back to the point- I have the same issue sometimes- cards add up before you realize it! Check the 99 cent section at Hallmark or the Hallmark section of Kroger. There's some cute stuff and I usually go to that when I have a bunch cards to buy at once! For wrapping paper, I just try and buy a neutral pattern that I can use for lots of people and occasions- you can stretch the price that way. Hope that helps!

To get the Hallmark "gold seal" but still keep within a budget, check the $0.99 section of cards at the store. I also buy very gender neutral wrapping paper so that I can keep down the number of rolls I need to buy.
If you're near one, Factory Card Outlet has very inexpensive cards. I haven't bought wrapping paper there but it's probably relatively inexpensive, too.

I usually do the 99 cent section or just create a small tag to place onto the gift using the scraps of paper and a cute stamp.
As far as wrapping paper, you can always go the "green" route and turn a brown paper bag inside out. Use some rafia ribbon and it will give you a nice rustic look.
My brother used to wrap all of his presents in leftover beer cases. Everyone always got a kick out of that. Might work for someone who is a beer drinker.
Also, I keep all gift bags that are given to me. I have so many in my stash that I just keep recycling them over and over. Gift bags can be cheaper than wrapping paper depending on the gift that is given. I stick with a standard white tissue paper that I can buy in bulk. It works!
