Some baby-related questions

Please please excuse my ignorance.  We're coming to NYC and I have some questions about logistics w/ our 12 m/o.

We're driving to Trenton then taking the train in to the city.

If we want to travel by taxi, we have to have DS's car seat, correct?  Is there another safe/legal way to travel w/ DS in a taxi?  i'm just trying to wrap my head around how we're gonig to carry all this stuff.

Do you recommend any particularly family-friendly restaus in midtown or downtown?

If you have any other advice (suggestions for things to do?) I'd appreciate it.  Thanks so much.

Re: Some baby-related questions

  • Legally in nyc you do not need a carseat in a taxi, but I have always used mine.  some car services have carseats (777-7777) does- at least infant seats, if you request it.  It is sooo much easier to take the subway with my daughter than a car.  I wear her, and it is nice and secure.  No carseats, or scary rides without one.

This is what I was thinking- that we'd just take the subway and put DS in teh Ergo.  But we'll need to get to the train station to our hotel (and back on teh way home) and with all our stuff it kind of begs for a taxi.

I was thinking we could bring DS in his infant seat w/ the stroller frame and use that to get to the hotel and just use hte Ergo the rest of the time.

Thanks for your input.  I appreciate it.

  • coming back from thanksgiving dh and I split up.  he went in the cab with the bags and I look dd on the subway in her sling, just another idea for you.
