How was your weekend? (a day late)

I don't see this post yet, so i'll start it!!

Fri night; DH and i headed back up to NH for the weekend.

Sat; i went grocery shopping with FIL while DH dragged their Xmas tree and other holiday decorations up from the basement. We had lunch and then went to visit MIL in the nursing home/physical rehab center she's at. It's still a little disconcerting to see her without her dentures in, sitting in a wheelchair with an oxygen canula in her nose. But she's still slowly getting better. She's getting therapy twice a day; the first round is just oxygen/breathing therapy and the 2nd round they add in a bit of exercise. Since she was laying in bed for 3 weeks, she's lost a lot of her muscle ability. Which is also hard to see. Tongue Tied Dinner back at the house

Sun; another late start to the day. We don't go see MIL until after lunch and she's had her first round of therapy. We had lunch at Friendly's and i branched out and got something different than what i usually get and it was gross. So i sent it back and got what i normally love. Another visit with MIL, then back to the house for dinner.

Mon; DH and i took Monday off so we could actually have a full weekend and help FIL do some stuff. DH and i did some quick Xmas shopping for his family in NH (so we could leave the presents there and not pay for shipping), and then back to visit MIL before hopping on the bus back to NYC. MIL wasn't having a good day yesterday and i know that it's not only super frustrating for her, but for DH and FIL as well. She finally asked for a sleeping pill Sunday night and since it knocked her out all night, she wasn't able to wake up sporadically to cough and get the gunk out of her lungs. So she was having a hard time breathing on Monday. Ugh...

But our bus got in 30mins early last night!! Woo hoo!!

that sounds like an emotionally draining weekend for you & DH i'm so sorry about your MIL

my weekend was ok. it's our only weekend between now and new year's that doesn't involve one or both of us traveling and/or having guests so it was a much needed low key weekend. i was kinda sick. not totally wiped out (thank christ!) but definitely felt a bit crap all weekend.

i made it to the handmade cavalcade on saturday, which was very cool. got some llama silkscreened placemats for my gay husband, a cute dinosaur for my niece, and some really pretty fingerless gloves to keep from freezing to death at work. also, found an etsy vendor who is making a clock for DH.

Is it sad that it's only Tuesday and I already have to check out my planner to see what I did over the weekend??

Friday night I had a photoshoot with my bellydance company girls. It was so much fun and the pics came out AWESOME.

Saturday I danced at "Red Hat Ladies" luncheon. I did a performance and then a lesson. It was hilarious. Those red hat ladies crack me up!!

Sunday I baked round 1 of Christmas cookies with my mom. We do three types of cookies each year, and they are in high demand....everyone we know wants some, so we make a LOT. Tonight is round two...

Hey ladies:

Friday: drinks with some gal pals and then chilling at home with a pizza

Sat: DH had his exam, I slept in...then brunch with DH at Singh's in Richmond Hill, then DH worked on painting in the kitchen and I worked on painting my cabinet drawers, and cleaning the house.

Sun: Pumber came early to work on kitchen plumbing, lined my cabinet drawers with contact papers (bigger project than it seemed), chillax
