Question re: commuter rail
I have an interview tomorrow morning at 11 AM in the city. I'm planning on taking the commuter rail, and giving myself extra time to get there. Should I allow even more time than I ordinarily would to allow for delays? (I am planning on making sure I get to my stop by 10 AM instead of 11, just to be safe.) Or does the commuter rail run pretty reliably even in nasty weather?
Re: Question re: commuter rail
Take the earlier train, bring a book or magazine, and hang out at north or south station for the extra two hours. The commuter rail can be unreliable even in good weather, depending on which line you're taking. Getting to the stop an hour early will just leave you cold and wet by the time your train arrives.
Good luck with the interview!
I'm guessing what you did is say you want to get to X address by X time. It has you taking the latest train possible to Back Bay, then waiting there for the latest possible orange line train to your destination, rather than having you get to your destination early by taking the first available orange line train.
