*Mamie* re: your towels

I saw in the below post about your towels, and smelling like moldyish (totally not a word).

Have you tried washing them separately, in hot water, and as opposed to putting fabric softener in, use white vinegar?

Your towels won't come out smelling like vinegar, but the vinegar will kill the bacteria that is lingering on the towels contributing to the odor.

The hubs thought I was crazy, now he insists that I use it.

Re: *Mamie* re: your towels

  • On that same note, don't use liquid softener when you wash towels. Use dryer sheets instead.  Liquid softener can be the culprit. I had this problem, used Philly's advice to get them clean, and now use dryer sheets and they've been fine ever since.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • I do use dryer sheets. Maybe I didn't wash them on warm. :(   Are you sure if I use vinegar they won't smell like vinegar? Because I really really hate vinegar and don't even own any.

  • I will bet money on it!  (When vinegar dry's, you can't smell it!)

During the rinse cycle, add about 1 cup.
