newborn photos! (and a question)
I just posted pics from our newborn session on Facebook....and finally updated my siggy pic!
she was so fussy and wouldn't go into a deep sleep so we were unable to get some of the super cute posed newborn pics I wanted... we totally got pooped and peed on during the session...and it took over 5 hours just to get the shots that we did!
oh and here's my question... I want to make a slideshow from the hospital birth photos we have but I am having trouble deciding on a song to use for the slideshow...any suggestions? bonus points if you have the file and can email it to me if I decide to use the song you suggest
Re: newborn photos! (and a question)
What, what do you mean you guys didn't get super cute posed newborn pics?!? Those look like super cute posed newborn pics to me! She's SOO adorable!! Do you have more pics than the ones in your siggy? If so, I think I need to find you on FB
I can't really think of any songs right now, your question is quite a tough one...maybe "A Whole New World" from Aladdin? Haha, I dunno, it was just the first thing I thought of when I tried to think of birth =P I do have the MP3 though...
We like "It Won't Be Like This For Long" by Darius Rucker (I LOVE country though... some people don't) -- we always say this will be Brooke and Vance's father-daughter dance at their wedding bc. we listened to it constantly when she was a newborn (& when I was pregnant!)
Your LO is adorable!

She is adorable Jaime! And might I add, she looks like a mini you!
Our photog used the song "Sweet Sweet Baby" by Michelle Featherstone for our slideshow. It's available on itunes....I tear up when I play it because it takes me back to those early days....sniff, sniff.
thanks
I really wanted one like the 2nd photo in this blog post here but they have to be totally asleep to get that shot! there are more on FB, just friend me

the pictures are adorable!
No good ideas about a song. I do love "Over the Rainbow" by Bruddah IZ, but I know it's been used a TON. Still a good song, though.
They are awesome Jaime! Wow, 5 hours! You have a fantastic photog. How old was A when you did these? We have a photog booked and she likes to do them the first 10 days or so. Did you keep the studio extra warm for her naked pics? I wonder how all that works. I want some super cute sleepy ones too...did you BF so she'd sleep? Just curious. I love all of your cute hats and props...Etsy? I want to get some floral headbands and knit hats too.
As for songs, I am thinking an instrumental version of "Wonderful World" or "Baby Mine." Also, how about "In my daughter's eyes" by Martina McBride?

I agree with pp...those pics are super cute!
As for songs this is what I first thought...I saw one newborn slideshow to Jack Johnson's "Better Together" & I also thought of "Daughter" by Loudon Wainwright III (played at the end of Knocked Up)

Ohh, wow, how do you get a baby to prop their arms up like that while they're sleeping?? I guess it's easier than while they're awake =P but still, the pics you guys got are soooo cute already! *off to find u on fb so I can see more
*
thanks Lori! my photographer also prefers to do them w/in 10 days but she was out of town for a few days and b/c I had to stay in the hospital longer for c-section recovery, we could not do her pics until 12 days...but it worked out ok! the photog actually came to our home so she had me feed her and put her to sleep before the session...unfortunately she didn't stay asleep once we took her out of the crib and the majority of the time she was awake (just our luck too - b/c normally i have to work SO hard to get her to wake up for her next nursing session - usually i have to change her diaper to piss her off!). my photog brought a space heater that she held over her periodically to keep her warm and when she was trying to get her to fall asleep....we did have to take a break so I could try nursing her again to get her to fall asleep but unfortunately that failed. she got really fussy at the end and the photog actually decided to leave and come back 3 days later (day after Thanksgiving) to try and get a few more shots in....for the 2nd session she was much more sleepy so we were able to get a lot more photos in a shorter period of time! but it definitely takes a lot of patience! all of the props (wraps, bands, hats, etc) belonged to the photographer, I didn't purchase anything ahead of time
I can't wait til you get to do your nb session with miss Libby

Love the photos! She's so cute.
The first song that came to mind is Wonderful World, but I suppose that's not terribly original. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Jaime, she's just adorable!
How about "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder
She's a cutie!!
I like the "Isn't she lovely" suggestion. I would also suggest Keane's cover of "What a wonderful world."
What a cutie!!!
"Gracie" from Ben Folds will always make me tear up. It's the song my pops chose for our Father/Daughter dance.
Love your photos! Soooo adorable!
Alexa was the same way... So fussy, would NOT sleep. Argh! We finally got her to sleep and hurried to get in a bunch of posed photos but we ran out of time to get all of the photos I wanted. Looks like ou got some great ones! Looking back, I think the eyes open ones are my favorites anyway. :-)

Also... We tried the pose you liked when Alexa finally fell asleep and couldn't get her to stay in it, balance, whatever. So even if you had gotten her into the deep sleep there's no guarantee of getting that shot.......
And I looooove the song our photog used in our slideshow. "Welcome to this World" by Renee & Jeremy.
You can listen to the song on their Website
