Scratch that: Work is closed.
Officially. Of course it says if you have critical business requirements, blah blah blah... LOL But at least I get paid for it now!
I love my boss's out of office: "Wednesday 12/9
I will be working from home; however at this time I do not have electricity so may not be able to access email."
If it wasn't so serious with 40+ mph winds and temperatures dropping, it'd be quite comical.
Re: Scratch that: Work is closed.
Awesome! Well not that the weather is awesome but you get to stay home.
I think I have dropped all notions of snow days once I stopped being a full time student.
Greg is thankfully off this week on vacation - the guy that's covering for him drove his 4WD into where they park the work trucks, nearly got stuck and said "Screw it" and went home. Much of Greg's territory is without power, so I think they'll be fine without Greg (or the back-up guy) coming up!
Jo, Greg had said earlier that I should text you to warn you - BE CAREFUL. It's nasty. This started yesterday and the roads were fine, so hopefully you'll be okay. Remember - no paycheck/job is worth your life. If you have to go because the roads are being reported as bad, leave. The guy will deal with it (I can't see him firing you because they couldn't survive without you!)
Mel, I was shocked - this is probably the SECOND official full snow day this office has had in ~40 years. Although I think the Governor closing all state offices and stating anyone that is NOT a State Emergency official should stay home and not attempt going into work helped!
So I'm off on vacation tomorrow and Friday - I can bake today and hopefully we can do fun thing the next two days!
She loves playing in the snow - she's not really a roll-in-it girl, but she'll grab a mouthful once in a while. Her thing when we first got her was this (she's just a baby in this picture):
Yes, that's right - she planted her face right in, like you do with a pie in someone's face! LOL
Greg took her out this morning for only 10 minutes and she's SO EXHAUSTED - she's not used to hopping through the snow (no joke - she bounds like a deer). She LOVES playing fetch though - I think later we're going to try and get video of her playing fetch in 14" of snow. LOL
Thanks Paula, you guys are right, no job is worth risking my life! I drove really really slow. I am dreading the ride home because there is goign to be a lot more ice then.
That picture of Xena is adorable.
Fun! A paid snow day!!
It is snowing here and is SO WINDY! The cable keeps turning on and off. I
Toby does the same thing as Xena except once his face is planted under the snow he runs with his head down plowing through.
Have fun with the rest of the week off!
