My professional organization offers a certification that requires classes and an exam. From what I've heard, 70% of applicants fail.
I just submitted my application and the $550 fee to take the exam. I am so nervous. I have until March to study but I've been out of school for a long time and I am very intimidated. I would feel terrible if I failed it after the money my employer has invested in me (the courses aren't cheap). I'm feelin the pressure!
Re: I'm feelin the pressure!
Oh, Gerrie! You can do it! I bet those 30% who did pass have your persistence and your drive.
Lewis is gearing up for something similar in January. PMP certification.
My professional organization has a similar certification, and I have heard the failure rate is around 50%. It's a comprehensive test on the profession as a whole, so it covers a lot of topics! Anyway, DH and I took it in 2007 (we are in the same profession but with vastly different specialties) and we both passed (I did better
). My employer was also on the hook for about $600 so it was important that I passed too. I was able to use some of my time in the office to prepare, so that helped a lot.
Does your organization offer any local study sessions or groups? We attended the one offered by our local chapter and found them valuable.
sooo funny that you mentioned this today...my collegue just told me today i'm eligible for board certification based on my years of experience, and i put on my to-do list to look up the certification process. this would be a big deal for me too.
i think we can do it!! good luck!
