Ok- so they got H & me 2-year Sea World passes last weekend for our Christmas gift, and same with Sis and BIL. They're also getting Sis and BIL a video camera.
So they asked what we want- and I told them that H wants an air compressor, and I would like some new cake pans to make layered cakes with
She she asked me what else I want! I had no idea- so I told her that we would like fruit trees and maybe a little help planting them (they're good at yard stuff- we went and laid sod at my sis' house this weekend! I wouldn't have known where to start, lol!)- she was so excited about the idea... which in turn makes me excited because mom and dad are going to come over and help rototiller my planters and give me fruit trees- I can't wait!!! ![]()
Soooo- what kind of fruit trees would you get?!
I definitely want a dwarf Meyer Lemon tree... but am not sure what else- any thoughts or suggestions?!
Re: YAY- I'm getting fruit trees!
Oranges!
The smell of orange blossom in the spring is the most amazing scent ever! I would also like maybe a lemon and a lime, but mostly oranges.
H wants oranges---- what kind do you guys like best?
Ooooh Grapefruit- I think that shall go on the list as well!
Maybe Pomenegranate too! And Kumquat!
OH and Kat- you might just have to come over and pick them off the tree if I get a bountiful harvest!
What do you think- Ruby Red or regular?
well if you insist
And I think Ruby Red, so pretty!
ooohhh how about avocados??
yeah I know. My parents have tried growing avocados a couple times and have had no luck. have you seen those flat apple trees that grow againist a wall. I want just cause they look cool
Oooh I haven't seen those- that sounds so cool! Are they green or red?!
How fun!
We had an Apricot tree and Tangerine tree growing up, so i totally recommend those. I remember summers just eating TONS of both. My mom made THE BEST apricot jam. I used to just sit and eat whole jars of it. I miss that she doesn't make it anymore since we left that house.
We had a grapefruit tree at that house too and the fruit never got ripe enough to eat. Same thing at the house we rented, the grapefruit tree never quite produced ripe fruit.
