YH and Shopping
Is YH a thrifty shopper? I do the shopping all year round. MH buys for me twice a year, birthday and Christmas. I shop around like crazy, especially now. I like to use coupons and buy around sale times and everything. I plan out my birthday/christmas shopping very carefully to save the most money. MH throws caution to the wind and just buys without thinking can he get it somewhere else for less. That bugs me. I know he hasn't done any Christmas shopping yet so this year I'm hoping to get it in his mind that he could save a lot of money if he thought about what he was getting and where more often. I know he hates to spend online because then I see the transactions on our bank account and we don't use credit cards. I think I am going to suggest he get a prepaid debit card and use that. Are YH anything like this?

he hates shopping with a passion. So, he tries to get in and out of stores as fast as possible. In the past, I relaly don't think he cared if he was getting a good deal (read before we were married). Now that I pretty much go out and buy the gifts, I make sure I can get a good deal and he appreciates it.
When it comes to my gift, he asks what I will like. Normally I don't tell him but leave hints throughout the year. Sometimes he picks up on them but usually too late to get a good deal.
Like i told you, nick has to be directed specifically to the item or i have to present if there is any sort of coupon/code involved. The thing that stinks is i know a majority of my gifts under the tree because i was right there with him and he refuses to buy me clothes so then i have to pick them out and act like i dont know about it. It stinks cause i like surprises!
MH isn't thrifty at all. That's one reason he isn't allowed to do the grocery shopping. He'll literally grab whatever off the shelf even if the identical thing is on sale in a different brand. He just doesn't get it that it all adds up.
When it comes to gifts for each other, we always decide on a limit so we don't go too crazy. He will still end up spending more on me than I on him.
