We are officially snowed in!
I posted some photos in my blog of all the snow we got yesterday and overnight, now the wind is blowing like crazy and it's officially a blizzard warning for the whole state of Iowa.

Ugh I wish I was home right now! We (and the rest of the town) got out early yesterday and it felt like a snow day in school! I love that feeling.
So the media has been having a collective stroke for the past week describing the doom that was supposed to come with last night's blizzard. (I personally hate it when they do that. Snow in Chicago is not news, it's reruns. It happens many times per year, we rarely get over a foot at a time, and I'm sick of people freaking out about it.)
I happen to work for the only university that would still be open during Armageddon. Granted, the "blizzard" was nothing more than 4 inches or so, and there's really no reason to close other than to let me sleep in.
So to sum it up - I'm jealous. I want to be snowed in.
Maybe in Chicago but not Indianapolis
. I know the feeling--especially when my 18 mile, 45 minute commute turns into a 2 hour commute...close the campus! It's snowing here now; I thought (and wished) it wouldn't happen since we've been so lucky (minus Monday) to not have it.

Kay, Reine. Sorry - you're on my bad list for being snowed in.

Jealous! And sick of the media, too. Come on, it is WINTER, it is supposed to snow. Maybe I'm jaded from living my first 21 years in Northern Vermont, but come on.
Here in DC all we have is the crappy rain and it is shockingly warm-ish today, supposed to get up to 55. I'd rather have snow than sleet/rain.

Love the pics. I can say that DH or I have never seen snow. So seeing pics is really cool to me.
I am in alaska and we have no snow, just allot of frost:(
Are youin central PA? I am from the Pocono area originally and lived in State College for many years before coming to Brooklyn (where we have seen nary a flake, by the way. Nothing but lots and lots of RAIN
).
