What magazines do your husband read?

I want to get Mr. a couple for xmas, one would be euorpean car or cycle world, and the other I want a more "current events" or world issues type magazine.

Tell me what you guys read, but also if any of these are good for someone who is not a grandpa-

Re: What magazines do your husband read?

  • My hubby had a subscription to Men's Health and really enjoyed it. I actually loved it as well because of all the recipes in it. Some of our staple meals that we have in a pinch are from that magazine.

If your Mr. is at all active it will certainly give him some incentive as well. Our basement has the pullout workouts pinned to the walls where our workout area is.

  • The only one hubby reads/subscribes to is Car & Driver - he really like cars.
  • My husband is a huge fan of the British edition of Men's Health... in his words, it has more naked boobs than the edition here :P

but it's like $9 per magazine, so a little steep... and I can only find it at Wal-Mart of all places. I told him for our first year anniversary (paper) I would get him this magazine so I bought him one every month for a year. He really enjoys it for the articles as well as motivation to work out.

  • We aren't big magazine readers, but we both read MacLeans cover to cover! DH also really likes Popular Science.
  • He reads Golf magazines but also likes Maclean's and People.
  • My house is cluttered with cooking magazines, since that's about all DH reads - he has a subscription to Bon Appetit, and had one for Gourmet before they went under. He'll also pick up other ones that look tempting on occasion too, like Saveur, Cooking Light or Fine Cooking.
  • DH really likes to read Men's Health, Consumer's Reports, and cooking mags.

  • DH reads and loves The Economist.  It's definitely the best global current events mag out there, but MacLeans is good too with a more Canadian focus.

I thought I was the only one! We got a subscription to Bon Appetit as a wedding gift and he LOVES it. He also really likes National Geographic.

  • I am the only one married to a techie?

I got DH a subscription to Wired last year and he likes it. He also likes the economist, but I'm pretty sure it's a weekly mag and pretty long, so I don't think I'd go for a subscription of it, I doubt it would all get read.

He also likes Mens Health - but I think he mentioned that one gets really repeptive after a while...

  • My husband likes People magazine (although he`d never admit to it, but he always reads it before I get a chance to), Truck Trader, the local newspaper, Country Weekly (although I`m not sure if they still do subscriptions or if it`s newstands only), and Woodworking magazine.

Oh DH is a total nerd, but he does all his geeky stuff on the computer.

  • Since the Mr. is a skater boy (insert eye roll) he really likes Transworld Skateboarding. However he's also into Wired and would read Men's Health if we subscribed. He usually grabs his stuff from the library.
