Help! Looking for Austin "outdoor/hiking" club
DH does not like to go on walks, hike, bike outdoorsy stuff. Bah!
I want to find an organization to join/go with.
I've lived in Austin 7 years and have not hiked or biked Town Lake (except as tiny patch by Long Center). : (
I realize it's smart to not go on hikes or walks by myself but... there's got a to be portions and times of day to be on Town Lake trails alone an be safe... right?

The Hike & Bike trail is a perfectly safe trail. I've walked alone a million times anywhere from dawn until dusk. It's teeming with runners/walkers/cyclist. I have never felt unsafe. I'm probably there 2-3 times per week with my toddler (in the jogging stroller).
Are you sure you're not thinking of the green belt? That's far more secluded and I would definitely suggest a buddy. You would be safe there during daylight hours, though.
