Why is it that they always say we are going to get this huge snow storm and then we get barely nothing?

We got about 3" of snow if not a bit more...the rain did make it sucky this morning but now it's just slush on the road...
You should have seen the line ups for tire changes, salt, shovels etc.
yesterday/last night. People are $tupid!
This is very late in the year for us to be getting our "first" snow fall...if they didn't already have the items from last year what the heck were they waiting for this year?!?!

I think we got 1cm last night and they say we should get another 5 tonight. I don't believe it.
We got a little bit more out here in ajax. It didnt stop until about 11 and then that's when the rain started.
My parents got about 10 cm. I havent been outside all day! I hibernated!
My (other) parents said it isnt too bad. I made them walk to my apartment because I didnt want to go outside! I dont know how much I believe them though because they are used to all of it in Russia.
The rain washed everything out anyways!
