Cold Weather/Indoor Activities with LO

Anyone have any suggestions of where to go when it's this cold out?

My LO is 3 months and we get sick of just walking around kenwood.  We can't walk the neighborhood anymore because the weather is terrible.

I am getting tired of going to target everyday or running errands, I want to feel like we are going somewhere productive that he may actually get a little enjoyment out of, and maybe somewhere I can push him in the stroller.

Help!

TIA

  • Come on over to the Cincinnati Babies board and post your question.  You will get great advice there.  LINK

  • I wish I had great suggestions for you but I don't. :( DD was very young last winter and I felt very much the same as you.  I just kept running the errands and ensuring we got out of the house everyday.  We also did Gymboree, story time at the library, and the occasional play group.  Have you looked into swimming lessons or a music or sign class?

The good news is that "they" say that January through March are supposed to be pretty mild so maybe Spring will be here a little early next year! Hang in there.  You're doing a great job just by having him out and about in the world.

  • We're north of town, so I spent a lot of last winter taking DS in the stroller through IKEA. I liked it for a lot of reasons. They are super kid/baby friendly (free diapers in the changing rooms!!!), and it's such a big place that I could take a different route around the store and not get bored. The downside was that I spent way too much $$ there!
  • I've heard good things about StrollerFit - i've never been because Drew refuses to be in a stroller anymore, but the moms LOVE it and they hang out together after. Sounds fun!
  • Can you go to the musuems?  I know last winter I was single and I'd go to the iMAX theatre, then head over to the musuems.  There are also a lot of galleries downtown that you may want to check out.  Yeah, you'd have to be cold for a minute to get there, but it'd be fun.

Also, there are some shops and galleries that you can look at in old Milford.  There is a really cool toy shop, a consignment shop, row house galleries etc.

I'm a dork and also love places like Lowe's and H. Depot.  That's weird to most, I know.
