Re: Tom and Gisele welcome a son

  • Good job by him being born during the week!  Hopefully Brady will still play on Sunday.  I bet he is such a cute baby.

  • Do we have a name yet?

  • here's the big question. Did she has it naturally, meaning she pushed the baby out with or w/o meds, or did she wimp out like a lot of celebs do and scheduled a c/s so she didn't have to experience going into labor. Now if she had a c because that is what they needed to do to get the baby out then fine, but I hate it when people have a c/s when its not medically necessary

It's not just celebs that do this, you know.

He said in his press conference this morning that they haven't decided yet.

wow, I didn't even know you could do that, unless you had to have a c/s for a medical reason the first time around.  I know a friend of mine was offered a c/s the second time, only because she had to have one the first time around.

I bet she is already back to her prebaby weight.

yeah with enough money you can get just aobut anything. Britney had elective c/s for both kids even though it was not medically necessary

According to Conan, it's Handsome McIcandoeverythingperfect. Or something like that. It was hilarious.

You don't need money to have a scheduled C/S. My mom had one with my younger brother 2 days before her due date. I still don't know why she did it. I was born over 3 weeks late and clearly wasn't ready to be born when they predicted (I was also a C/S but she did go into labor). My brother turned out fine (for the most part lol) but I wouldn't schedule my own C/S.

I'm guessing she had a scheduled c/s with your brother because she had one with you. Back then VBAC was not common at all, if you had one they automatically signed you up for another for the following kids.

  • VBACs are a lot more common now than they were back in the 1970s and 1980s.

I have a friend who had both of her DDs delivered through elective c-sections and my neighbor had an elective c-section with her DS a few months ago.  You don't need money. You just need a doctor willing to sign off on it for your insurance.

I'm not surprised she had another C/S, since there can be complications with a vaginal birth after a C/S. But I thought that the doctors would still allow the woman to go into labor before performing the C/S on the second child, rather than actually scheduling it. I obviously don't know what much about the birthing process; is that not what they do?

There is still some controversy over VBACs... my friend who lives in Dallas went to 5 doctors before she found one willing to do a VBAC. I heard it's more common in the Northeast to try VBAC... she also said most of the people she knows with kids had a scheduled c/s

No, I'm pretty sure they are usually scheduled. Sometimes the mom will go into labor first and they will do the c/s then instead, but it's typically scheduled.
