Canada Post - does this happen to anyone else?
I find that, around the holidays, the tracking information is not updated. I sometimes panic cause it's status never changes from "Item received at the post office". Then...voila...it's been delivered. It's frustrating cause I'd like to know that my package is, in fact, enroute, just in case it does get lost or something. Anyone else have this happen?
Re: Canada Post - does this happen to anyone else?
Your post had great timing. I ordered a set of matching family pajams for my BIL and his family for Christmas from Snug as a Bug in Toronto (I'm in Edmonton) on November 27. My tracking number says it was supposed to be here on Dec. 4, but the same lack of updating is still on the package (that Canada post just received it), and I still haven't gotten it. We're celebrating X-mas early with the ILs this year (on dec 19), and I'm also getting worried it's not getting here on time. So I phoned Canada Post, and they said to phone the shipper and have them track the package. So I've got my fingers crossed.
I ordered another package from Calgary that I just received the shipping number for yesterday, and I'm going to watch this one to see if it gets updated, as it doesn't have as far to go.
It's so frustrating. Especially since it's still early December.
There's always a Canada Post post around this time of year... what I can tell you is that the system only update every 24 hours and only if the item has been scanned properly. If the package arrives on time, but no tracking is marked it's b/c they aren't scanning as much as they should be (I would assume due to volumes... we get approx 12 million pieces of mail every day in December). If it is passed the "expected delivery date" I would be calling the number on the receipt or on the website to get a search initiated. We still run a good ship with only 2% late/lost over the holidays, but 2% is a lot of packages...?
As always, sorry my company is giving y'all a hard time
