Moms -- footed pajamas

My SIL suggested warm pajamas for my nephew for a christmas present.  I love the footed pajamas but am not sure a good quality brand and I need to shop online so I can't touch.

(If it makes a difference, he's 18M)

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Re: Moms -- footed pajamas

  • My kids usually just sleep in the fleece Carters footed pjs. They're soft and wash well. If you're just looking for cotton pajamas, we like Gymboree.
  • I second Carters in fleece.  I'm not sure I even know of any other brands for that age in footed pjs.  Maybe Cherokee or whatever brand it is that Target carries?!?  I think Just One Year does the 2 piece thermal pjs and those are usually really cute and good quality but they're not footed pjs.
  • I like the Carter's for fleece and terry footed pj's.

We haven't had very good luck with the Gerber brand and I can't speak to anything else.

  • ok...Carter's it is!

    thanks for all the feedback!

and p.s. - my sister manages to find footed pj's for my 7 year old nephew.  Why in the world does a 7 year old still need footed pajamas?

  • My daughter wore new Children's Place footed fleece pj's tonight and they are by far my favorites.  Very soft.  I know I'm late to the game, but thought I would throw it out there anyway.  They are on sale right now for $10.00.

I recently saw adult footed pj's at Target. Indifferent I can't imagine that those are too popular!

  • I know the footed pajamas for older children and adults are very popular with people with disabilities -- the little girl I take care of part-time now is 12 years old and is non-verbal, can crawl but can't walk, can't feed herself, etc.  At the day camp/summer camp she goes to, all of the campers who wear diapers exclusively wear footed pj's at night.

She also still wears onesies (special made) so she can't shred her diaper or take it off and the footed pj's are great for sleepwear for her b/c I can put them on her backwards or the zipper can be pinned to the material so they can't take them off -- she also is so thin she has trouble regulating her body temp so it's helpful in that regard too.

    Just another perspective.  ;)

  • ok, thanks for making me feel bad, S.  :-)

My nephew however has no disabilities besides being a mama's boy.  Wink

  • Good point, MrsB, and I didn't think of it that way either. I thought it was more of a "this year" trend since I'm seeing them all over for bigger kids (and now the adult ones), and I've never seen these bigger ones in stores before.

  • Chair -- I'm sure there are PLENTY of weird adults who still like to wear the footed pj's!  ;)
  • I love love love the footed pajamas from gymboree that are on sale right now.  They are a great quality and not too hot.  :)

  • Consider me a weird Mom that wears footed pajamas with her kids in front of the fire then.

My kids are 9 and 10 and think its cool that Mom can still be a kid with them once in a while. So, I'll gladly take that title of weirdo.

  • Children's Place are my favorite too.  I think footed PJ are cute on any age kid.  The last time they were on clearance I picked up a pair in 24 mo & 3T for him to wear when he's bigger.  We have wood floors, so they're great for keeping his feet warm before bed & in the mornings.

  • I'm late, but I LOVE Carter's PJ's... LOVE them :)

I was given a Children's Place footed PJ for Camden when he was around 4 months and they were nice as well... Carter's just has a ton more styles to choose from :)

  • i had footed pajamas until i was 12 years old - they were flannel and 2 pieces - a button down top and bottoms with the feet attached - they were my favorite pajamas EVER - nice and warm and i didn't have to wear socks to bed or house shoes in the morning (which HATED!)
  • I must be the only one that doesn't care for the fleece Carter footed pj's.  They are so tight on H's ankles/wrists that it's difficult to get her feet/arms in and I wouldn't say her ankles/wrists are large.
