So, since we all just had our 1 yr anniversaries...
Are you and DH exchanging this year? If so, are you getting him something specific or...
or saving up for something?
Re: Christmas gifts...
I was told I'm not getting a lot, if anything, due to my anniv gift-which is fine!
I did get DH a refurbished Nintendo DS-since he would hate it if I paid full $ for it-and a few games... -although it may be for his bday and the sodastream thing might be for Christmas... tbd. (bday's the week before Christmas for him...)
We are saving for a tv-so any gift cards or $ we get goes towards the tv!
Our gift was just supposed to be our new TV... M broke the one we have now, so we jumped on the chance of layaway at Sears and got us a nice TV
We're picking it up next week!
Then I found out we both had some unused miles on Delta, and weren't close to a free ticket, so I thought I'd check out the magazines we could get... And found out you can get gift cards with miles! So I got us 3 $50 gift cards. I got Outback, Applebees and Old Navy. So excited, $150 in gifts for free basically!
DH is giving me the diamond he bought on deployment. It's been set into a necklace.
I'm giving him a lense he wants for his camera. It's pretty expensive, so that's my big present to him. I also got him a book and video game off Amazon for a good price.
We kinda did BF gifts, hehe. I got a set of wine glasses for him, and a crockpot for me! We also got him slippers.
But only the wine glasses will make it under the tree. The other things are already in use.
We did shmancy anniversary gifts (iPhones) so we are forgoing the Christmas exchange. Maybe something small. I want to do ornaments. Just don't know when I'll have time.
We are also not getting anything for Scarlett (other than a customized ornament) because the rest of our family is going crazy with TONS of gifts. Many of them are not even age appropriate, so we'll put them in the closet to introduce as time goes on or to save as rewards. I asked them to just get her books and Disney dvd's...but the girl is already getting a rocking-talking pony from MIL!
DH just emailed and asked what kind of beer I want for under the tree. yeah. he's not getting me beer. Socks are just fine
and books... and beads for my pandora bracelet... and... -really I don't need a thing.
We agree about the kids, though. They're getting enough from 'Santa' as is, but we have a few items for the tree to open at our house.
DH and I are doing a $75 limit, well around that.
I'm getting him a Front Upper Strut tower brace for his race car. and a nice lead rope for his horse. and maybe another little part for his car...we'll see if money allows.
I have no clue what he's getting me.
We weren't going to but DH needed new shoes, so those became his present. Not really an exciting present since he needed them badly for work, but whatever.
I have on my list a Prenatal Pilates DVD and the leopard snuggie (yes, I really want it).
Aria- Good call for Scarlett. My B and SIL never purchase presents for their children since they always get so many anyway. They figure it is almost a waste of money (which it kind of is).
I use the pink snuggie DH got me last year almost every night. I promptly fall asleep on the couch as soon as I put it on.
We did a huge anniversary exchange so for Christmas we are doing a Christmas Eve ornament exchange and a $50 stocking exchange for Christmas so we have stuff to open.
I got DH a book he really wanted, a ds game, a turkish coffee pot, a nonhomemade coffee ornament (I needed backup LOL), and then candy.
