New TTC advertiser???

AshleyMadison.com wants to advertise on a Toronto streetcar, and the slogan will say, "Have an affair".

Are you kidding me?  How can they promote this BS?

Re: New TTC advertiser???

  • I don't have a problem with it.  They aren't a magazine or a business targeting a certain population or set of values.  It's public transit and the TTC needs money.

I believe they've ran ads for athiest groups and pro-life groups - both of which were controversial.  I don't think it's the TTC's job to censor ads because they don't meet our ideals of what society should be.

Call me crazy, but I think AshleyMadison.com is brilliant.  They've found a way to make business out of something that people are going to do anyway.  No one is going to have an affair simply because this website exists.  They're going to do it whether the website is there to facilitate it or not.

  • Whoever came up with AM is very smart.

We have pro-life ads on our buses (so pics of aborted fetus). Compared to that AM is pretty tame.
