Ok ladies. It is just entirely too quiet today. Tell me whats on your mind? What are your holiday plans? Anything new or exciting?
Re: Too Quiet!
Sorry, crazy day at work!
I will be travelling to Livonia, Michigan to spend the holidays at DH Grandma's house. I have never met her, and she is 87 and recently had a stroke, so now's as good a time as any! MIL & SIL and her family will be there too. FUN! It's going to be hella cold though, which I'm not exactly looking forward to. However, if it snows, I might be OK with the temps.
We also plan to visit the University of Michigan (which is actually a rival Big Ten school to my alma mater, Penn State) and have a family reunion with some of DHs long-lost cousins. Should be an interesting few days!
What about you?
You went to Penn Sate? I live about 30 min from State College.
I'm going Christmas caroling with some people from work tonight and tomorrow is our office Christmas party. Then hopefully finishing Christmas shopping this weekend.
I am stressing about Christmas - I work 2 jobs and hubby is getting another because he is getting laid off a day a week (sounds odd but that is what they decided to do). Looking at the calendar today, I realized that I have until Sunday to get everything done for Christmas because after that,I have something literally every single day until Christmas Eve!
Holiday plans - hanging with hubby's family christmas eve and I am freaking out. Hubby's evil cousin who was half of the duo who tried to derail our wedding plans by being insanely bratty is going to really hate me now. She was going to be in charge of bringing bread to the party but Hubby's grandma found out through the grapevine that I am a good baker so nominated me to do homemade bread for dinner instead of cousin's storebought stuff. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal but to her, it is going to be. Ugh, holidays are akward enough with that side. Thanks hubby's grandma.
We're hanging with my fam Christmas day and for the first time, not doing anything with my larger extended family. Our family grew by 2 this year with my marriage as well as my younger sisters' and my parents decided that now was as good a time as any to start our own tradition... now if I could only get my In-Laws to feel the same way. hahahaha!
I'm SO excited about Christmas! DH (I start typing FI and have to replace it with DH every time I talk about him
) and I are headed up to Vermont on the 23rd to celebrate with my family. DH prefers to spend Christmas with my family (his doesn't do much and my mom LOVES Christmas so it is full of traditions, which he gets excited about). I can't wait. We had to stay down in DC last year because of my job and we were both miserable.
I was a little stressed about gift purchasing but we are just about done, DH just needs to pick up his dad's gift, but he knows what he wants to get him. I have to have everything done this weekend because next weekend we have parties to go to and then we head to VT!
We also have New Years plans for the first time in years, some friends of ours are having a small party, so we are looking forward to that, too

I managed to finally get some shopping accomplished today. But the Mr. was with me so I couldn't get anything for him. I did get my parents' presents though so that's a good thing.
Tomorrow I am going to get my hair cut and getting some highlights. I can't wait since I haven't cut my hair since the wedding and it's now officially making me insane!
Hey, I know Livonia! I have relatives in that area. What a coincidence!
kelnyc - I have a step-brother who lives in Livonia, MI!
I did! And then lived there for 6 more years afterwards working for a bank and dabbling in real estate while my ex pretended to be finishing his degree. Good times!
Have fun carolling!
