s/o cubicle ettiquette... pet peeves
What are some of your cubicle pet peeves that people do?
Some of mine:
tapping on my cube wall as they walk by
stopping in front of my cube to carry on a loud conversation
having a personal conversation on their cell phone outside my cube (because it's SO much more private than their own cube?)
walking by and peering into every cube they pass
slamming into my cube wall when they're not watching where they're going
Sigh... I want an office with a door.

Re: s/o cubicle ettiquette... pet peeves
Even though I have an office with a door, my office is the size of a cubicle. . .and at my office, it's so rare for someone to close their office door that anyone who does (say, if they're making their yearly lady exam appointment) pretty much gets a ton of questions.
Also annoying: speakerphone. It drives me nuts when co-workers don't just pick up the dang phone to listen to their voicemail or make calls.
Oooh, thought of another one: if I'm on the phone, certain people stand in my doorway (or sit down in my office) and just wait for me to finish, even if I give them the ol' "1 minute" finger. That makes me want to give them another finger.

Same thing in my office! If you shut your door everyone asks "are you okay?" when you open it up... sigh.
We have a large open area with tables and benches out side of my office. It drives me batty when people sit out there and whisper -- thinking the entire office can't hear. They are oh so wrong. Also, they're terrible at it. They'll talk regular then all of a sudden: "whisper, whisper, whisper....". Argh.
"The House We Built."
A journey of building the dream.
I'll add some more on behalf of my cube neighbor:
when someone carries on a conversation outside your cube, then they use your book case IN your cube to lean on
when someone isn't watching where they're going and almost walks into your cube
when someone isn't watching where they're going and walks all the way into your cube before they realize it

Ohmygosh! That's awful!
And people really use speakerphone in your office? Man, that WOULD drive me insane!
Pet peeves:
Also, when they stand outside your cube to hold conversations.
People come over to me all the time and whisper, "Are you on the phone?"
1. You have exactly the same phone, so you know what different lights mean. Just look at my phone and see if I'm on it.
2. When I say no and you start to speak with me, you don't have to whisper anymore! Talk in your regular office voice.
I also HATE when people tap their fingers or whatever is in their hands on the cube walls when they walk by.
Oof, this makes me want to throw up. Although I have heard people clipping their nails.
Also, passing gas, and burping are also things I have heard "over the cube wall". Ewww, so do not need to hear that.
There is this poster board outside my cube that people always drum their fingers on when they walk by - it drives me nuts.
Also on the list:
- when people just walk into my cube to look out the window and I am sitting at my desk - excuse me, I'm sitting here!
- this one guy who likes to just walk into my office and sit ON MY DESK right next to me while I'm on the phone
Although this irritates the crap out of me, I do have one worse - there is a GUY in my office who on occasion will clip his TOENAILS.
None of the cubes here have the speakerphone activated. It's blocked unless you have a door.
I have a coworker who always stops and tries to hide behind the wall (She's 68) to watch what I'm doing.
People have loud conversations around my cube all the time. It's my worst pet peeve.
People leave crap on my desk all of the time- intentionally.
I know I have 257 more, I just need to sit here for 5 minutes as they begin occurring.
