Making my first ham dinner... What else should I have?... (or is this enough... feeding 6-7 people day after Christmas)
(the kids told me ketchup and honey mustard... I told them that's not what I meant...)
-ham-prob a spiral one? maple?
-green bean casserole
-mashed taters
-ham gravy
-biscuits
-? cranberry relish
-dessert will be pumpkin roll, cookies, possibly... and that's enough cause Mom will bring something, I'm sure...
Thanks!
Re: What do you like w Ham?
Biscuits! You can't eat ham without those!
I'd also do green bean casserole and mashed potatoes. I'd also do a salad, mabye something festive with cranberries in it.
mmm! my mouth is watering just imagining this!
My step-sister does Christmas dinner-always a turkey. I figure, you have enough turkey at Thanksgiving... and we like a good ham (with ketchup!)...
Dh loves making bread-maybe I'll have him do a honey wheat loaf?...
Love me some cranberries...
Me, too! But I have some weird kids... they aren't into au gratin potatoes...weird. weird. weird.
I'd love some sweet potatoes, too-the casserole vs. whole ones. Dh likes pearl onions, but I've never done those-sure they aren't hard, just annoying to peel.
Totally!!
I agree w/Karrey on the cheesy - we usually do corn casserole (reg. corn, creamed corn, pasta shells and velveeta - YUM). Au gratin potatoes would be good too.
My kids love relish trays - pickles, olives, etc. We always go through a lot of black olives!
