Sum up your thoughts on the Tiger Woods drama in three words or less:
You're stuck on a desert island with a box of matches, a life preserver and a TV. Somehow, the TV miraculously gets a signal even though you're thousands of miles from anywhere! But unfortunately, it only gets one TV show, so you're stuck watching reruns of that forever. Luckily, it's your favorite show of all time! What is it?
What does your name (first + middle) mean? (Here's a linky if you need to look it up.)
I got a pedicure today, and I feel AWESOME! What's your favorite thing to do to feel pampered?
What's the worst Christmas gift you ever received?
A couple of days ago, I took our car to the car wash. Normally I'm pretty frugal and won't generally pay others to do things I can do myself, but I hate - HATE - washing cars. I'd much rather pay someone to do it for me. Is there anything that you pay someone else to do even though it would be cheaper (not necessarily easier/faster, just cheaper) for you to do it yourself?
Did you ever go to a camp (summer, math, whatever) when you were a kid?
You're offered $1m per year for the rest of your life to leave your country and never return (you can fly your family/friends out to see you, but you can't go back). Do you take the deal? If so, where would you move to? [ETA: yes, you can visit other countries, you just can't return home]
And just to bring it close to home, when did you first start posting on the Knot/Nest?
Re: I don't think we've had a Poll of Randomness in a while...
You're asked to bring a something to a potluck dinner. What's your go-to dish? I have a couple delish casseroles that I vary between (one is potato-based, the other is a kind of halfassed Mexican dish).
Sum up your thoughts on the Tiger Woods drama in three words or less: Typical celeb BS.

But unfortunately, it only gets one TV show, so you're stuck watching reruns of that forever. Luckily, it's your favorite show of all time! What is it? Hmm. My favorite show is actually Arrested Development. But for pure re-watchability factor? Probably Friends.
What does your name (first + middle) mean? (Here's a linky if you need to look it up.) "Consecrated to God" and "little rock/from the little rock" (Lisa Rochelle)
I got a pedicure today, and I feel AWESOME! What's your favorite thing to do to feel pampered? Well the pedicure WAS awesome...I'd say either a manicure or a pedicure.
What's the worst Christmas gift you ever received? I'd have to say...a used puzzle. That was missing pieces. And it wasn't from someone who was senile or anything.
Well, there's the car washing thing, and I have to say that I'd love to hire a maid. Not every day, maybe not even every week...like every other week, to come in and do the really obnoxious cleaning.
Did you ever go to a camp (summer, math, whatever) when you were a kid? My sister and I went to a horse camp once. We were horse crazy and super excited because my uncle (who was helping to run the camp) said we could go for free if we helped out around the place. It sounded great, but totally blew. We were basically free slave labor and had to cook, clean, etc. all day long. We weren't allowed to go hiking or anything outside the campgrounds (lest we be needed to do a chore), and couldn't ride the horses because they "had to be fresh for the kids who were paying to attend." We got one ride in the entire 2 weeks, and then we had to stop early to go help the cook make dinner...like I said, it blew.
You're offered $1m per year for the rest of your life to leave your country and never return (you can fly your family/friends out to see you, but you can't go back). Do you take the deal? If so, where would you move to? I'd absolutely do it. I'm assuming both Australia and the USA would be out for me, so I guess...Italy, perhaps?
And just to bring it close to home, when did you first start posting on the Knot/Nest? Oooooh...umm...2006. I want to say around June?I got a pedicure today, and I feel AWESOME! Sorry this post is so long. My computer won't allow me to BOLD my answers!
Sum up your thoughts on the Tiger Woods drama in three words or less: Those girls? Really?
You're stuck on a desert island with a box of matches, a life preserver and a TV. Somehow, the TV miraculously gets a signal even though you're thousands of miles from anywhere! But unfortunately, it only gets one TV show, so you're stuck watching reruns of that forever. Luckily, it's your favorite show of all time! What is it? My favorite show of all time is The Sopranos, but desert island stranding calls for a comedy, so... Friends.
What does your name (first + middle) mean? (Here's a linky if you need to look it up.) My first name means "Little Alice" (Alice was my Gma's name). My middle name means "Bright-Headed"
I got a pedicure today, and I feel AWESOME! What's your favorite thing to do to feel pampered? Getting my hair cut/colored. Two-plus hours at the salon, I love it.
What's the worst Christmas gift you ever received? What's pink and orange and hideous all over? The shirt MIL bought for me the first year J and I were dating. Sorry, but that thing got returned SO FAST.
Eyebrow waxing. I pay someone $20 to rip the hair out of my face, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Did you ever go to a camp (summer, math, whatever) when you were a kid? In 5th grade my entire class went to camp for a week. The thing I remember most was the Gum Rainbow. To encourage us not to leave gum on the ground, under tables, etc. there was a wooden block with a pre-painted rainbow, and when we were done with our gum we'd stick it on the corresponding color band of the rainbow. Yum.
You're offered $1m per year for the rest of your life to leave your country and never return (you can fly your family/friends out to see you, but you can't go back). Do you take the deal? If so, where would you move to? I love America, but sometimes I want to move anyway so I'd definitely do it for $1M a year. I'd probably choose Italy, or Ireland.
And just to bring it close to home, when did you first start posting on the Knot/Nest? I don't remember exactly, I think it was Fall or Winter 2007. Wow, two years already!
You're asked to bring a something to a potluck dinner. What's your go-to dish? There are several things I fluctuate between, but I'd have to say that hot spinach/artichoke dip with pita chips is very common for me.
Sum up your thoughts on the Tiger Woods drama in three words or less: famous athlete.....expected

But unfortunately, it only gets oneTV show, so you're stuck watching reruns of that forever. Luckily,it's your favorite show of all time! What is it? For the same reason, re-watchability, I think I'd have to go with Lisa's idea of Friends.
What does your name (first + middle) mean? (Here's a linky if you need to look it up.) "Weary" and "Follower of Christ." (Leah Christine) Lovely, right?! Everyone wants to be "weary!" I do find the irony funny that Leah is a very Jewish/Hebrew name, and Christine means "follower of Christ!"
I got a pedicure today, and I feel AWESOME! What's your favorite thing to do to feel pampered? Definitely a massage! Preferably Hot Stone.
What's the worst Christmas gift you ever received? I just hate it when people give me music themed gifts (think socks, sweaters, etc.) since I am a music teacher. Yes, I do teach music, but I also have style!
Acouple of days ago, I took our car to the car wash. Normally I'm prettyfrugal and won't generally pay others to do things I can do myself, butI hate - HATE - washing cars. I'd much rather pay someone to do it forme. Is there anything that you pay someone else to do even though itwould be cheaper (not necessarily easier/faster, just cheaper) for youto do it yourself? We just hired someone to do the snow shoveling this year.....yay! MH refuses to do it, and since I'm knocked up, he agreed that we could pay someone else this year.
Did you ever go to a camp (summer, math, whatever) when you were a kid? I was a little bit of a camp whore! German camp, Girl Scout camp, Bike camp (we took a week-long bike trip), and yes, Band camp. I also ended up working at the camp that I went to Band camp at (it's only a band camp for one week, and a regular camp the rest of the summer) the summer after my freshman year of college. One summer I went to three different camps with only a day or two in between each. And, no, my parents weren't trying to get rid of me....I was the one begging to go!
You'reoffered $1m per year for the rest of your life to leave your countryand never return (you can fly your family/friends out to see you, butyou can't go back). Do you take the deal? If so, where would you moveto? I'd probably do it. Probably Austria, maybe Italy, England, or Australia.
And just to bring it close to home, when did you first start posting on the Knot/Nest? About a month after I got officially engaged, so.......maybe November last year? You're asked to bring a something to a potluck dinner. What's your go-to dish? If I need to be quick, meatballs & BBQ sauce. If not, I usually will make some sort of appetizer/finger food or bake some pumpkin bread.

What does your name (first + middle) mean? (Here's a linky if you need to look it up.) Beloved Cascade - that would be my given middle name. I changed my maiden name to my middle name and dropped the Cascade though.
So now I'm just Beloved!
I got a pedicure today, and I feel AWESOME! What's your favorite thing to do to feel pampered? There are SO many things. I love pedis, I also love massage, and a REALLY good haircut. Ummmm....number one pampering would probably be a microdermabrasion facial.
What's the worst Christmas gift you ever received? The first year Todd and I leved together he got me a bluetooth headset and an ab exercise ball. He doesn't get what was wrong with that.
Clean my house.
Did you ever go to a camp (summer, math, whatever) when you were a kid? YES! I went to Girl Scout camp every year. My favorite was Hidden Falls in the Santa Cruz area because they had dance programs.
You're offered $1m per year for the rest of your life to leave your country and never return (you can fly your family/friends out to see you, but you can't go back). Do you take the deal? If so, where would you move to? Yes. Not sure where I'd move but I'm pretty sure I'd go somewhere in Europe. Spain perhaps. Although....can I travel to tropical places so long as I don't go back to the US? That might change my decision!
And just to bring it close to home, when did you first start posting on the Knot/Nest? About 18 months before our wedding. So, early 2007.
You're asked to bring a something to a potluck dinner. What's your go-to dish?
A salad made with romaine lettuce, chopped apples or pears, candied pecans, crumbled bleu cheese and a white vinaigrette.

What's the worst Christmas gift you ever received?
Satin PJs from my MIL...yuck! Or stinky Avon perfume that I'd NEVER wear.
A couple of days ago, I took our car to the car wash. Normally I'm pretty frugal and won't generally pay others to do things I can do myself, but I hate - HATE - washing cars. Haven't actually been to a potluck in ages...usually it's summertime so potato salad?? We have an awesome unusual recipe involving cumin which is great.

What's the worst Christmas gift you ever received?
When I was about 13 I desperately wanted a NKOTB tape, except my parents got me the WRONG one, a crappy album with none of the big hit songs on it. I threatened to run away.

I promised myself that when we moved into a new place I would splurge on getting someone in to do cleaning once a month. It seems so extravagant, especially since it's not like we live in a house, just an apartment. But I think it would be worth it to get the floors and bathroom really sparkling.
Did you ever go to a camp (summer, math, whatever) when you were a kid?
Totally - theatre and opera camps EVERY summer. It was the highlight of my year.
You're offered $1m per year for the rest of your life to leave your country and never return (you can fly your family/friends out to see you, but you can't go back). Do you take the deal? If so, where would you move to?
I think I might be in the minority here. I don't think I could ever not go to Hawaii again: it's my home. Not even for a million dollars.

About Christmas time two years ago! Seems like it was just yesterday...

Oil change. Hubby can do it but I much prefer to spend $20 and avoid the mess that could happen or the cursing that would ensue.
Did you ever go to a camp (summer, math, whatever) when you were a kid?
YMCA camp.......loved every minute of it. Kum bye Ya....anyone??

The knot: months before MH proposed
