Congrats Ingram - first 'Bama Heisman [hard to believe that]!
Now I'm curious as to how close the vote was...apparently, it was tied earlier in the day before all the votes had been counted...

Re: Get it Ingram.
I was wondering how close the vote was too. Regardless....congratulations to Mark Ingram, he deserves it!
ETA: Holy crap...Gerhart was second?! I wouldn't have guessed that..personally I thought the other guys had better seasons.
That surprised me, too...the breakdown showed Ingram and Gerhart went 1-2 in the regions that didn't have a finalist...wow.
Congrats, Ingram.
Oh, and take your Heisman win LIKE A MAN. How DARE you show emotions on national television! Shameful.
Yeah, was thinking the same thing. Also, watching the Army guys crying like little girls after they got spanked today, yet all people want to talk about is Tebow getting emotional last week. Such the double standard.
I'd ask what the difference is to my Bama fan FB friends, but I figure responses will be along the lines of the difference between winners and losers. I'm not up for that fight tonight.
My Bio
I, obviously, am not a Bama fan but I am glad that he won...considering Heisman winners typically do poorly in their bowl games! Hook 'em!
I'm also really proud of my Auburn Tigers...held the Heisman winner to 30 yards in the Iron Bowl...ha! War Eagle!
TI, IUIs, IVF = c/ps and BFNs
No joke. Auburn's defense were absolute studs against 'Bama. WHY my Gators didn't copy your gameplan, I'll never know...
In all seriousness, I do think that Ingram was very deserving of the Heisman. I would have loved to see a defensive player (Suh) snag it, but I don't know that that will every happen...
Ditto. It was really nice to see how deeply touched he was by the honor. Jeez, he's no joke.
Congrats to him. He deserved it.
I knew Tebow wouldn't win, but I'm shocked at few votes he got. i'm actually a bit surprised, considering the gap between him and the others, that they invited him. Maybe it was closer earlier in the week?
As a former Heisman winner, he would have been invited anyway.
I know that
I meant as a nominee.
I'm not being negative! I'm just saying the numbers seemed to be a bit random for a cut off point, especailly since inviting 5 isn't that common in the first place. KWIM?
ETA: like I said, I'm surprised he got so few. I would have thought he'd recieve more. Thats meant (from me) to be a compliment to his abilities.
Ingram received 227 first-place votes and 1,304 points. Gerhart got 222 first-place votes and 1,276 points, while Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, last season?s runner-up, received 203 and 1,145.
This! Loved his speech
I saw the votes after the show was all done...I still can't believe how close it really was. And I'm still surprised Tebow was as far back as he was.
Eh, I'm not. The Heisman award is intended for whatever player has had the best season. Tim simply hasn't had a great one (undefeated regular season notwithstanding). Of course, I don't think this detracts from the spectacular career he's had as a Gator.
